Oh hello again, uninvited regular visitor

I gave Olive and Smoke baths today. Look how clean they are! And you can’t tell from the photos but they smell nice

Oh my goodness that sounds stressful (for both her and you!). I’m sorry she has been struggling but glad no serious cause has been found. I hope things settle soon. In the meantime you could try the strategy of breaking up the treats but be careful— some dogs can see through that

A person on the phone saying “if you break it in half, they think it’s two treats” with a dog sitting on the floor listening. Next panel shows the dog smothering the person with a pillow in his sleep

My beloved Mac and Layton barking at a mink. I miss these two pups with all my heart. Mac was a rare hound dog who rarely barked so this was special. Layton was a cocker spaniel who never stopped barking 🤣🐾💕🌈🌈

I find Smoke’s approach to singing so endearing especially the last bit 🤣💕🎶 (caution: the loud squeaky toy sound is hard on human ears but it’s what prompts them to sing)

A dog with no respect for boundaries. Volume on if you dare….

When he first came to live with me, he never barked. I kept saying “a quiet cocker spaniel—not possible!” Here he is now, a few months later on a walk

A visitor walked through my carport at 615 am today then came back through just before 9 pm and approached the porch. He is very handsome but I’d prefer he didn’t call on us again

15 years ago today, I brought home my beloved Layton from the Toronto Humane Society. He was with me until June 2, 2021 when he died suddenly of lung cancer. I was so lucky to have found him and think of him often.

He may not have Olive’s vocal talents but he has a style all his own (especially his eyes and ears)

I have to squeak the ball much more aggressively (which is ultra grating and loud—sorry!) to get Smoke to sing but he is so cute when he does

Yes they really do!! So adorable 🥰. And that’s such a great photo of her. And also so much like my former cocker spaniel Layton 💕🐾💕🐾💕💔

5 years ago today, Walter arrived from Texas and this was him when I picked him up near the border here. I’m so sad that he didn’t live to see this anniversary 💔💔💔😭😭😭. See below for more pics of him as he got healthier and happier in the months and years after this 1/

Yes I’ve found that snacks can pretty much resolve any issue with my pups too. 💕🐾

I’ve been traveling the past week and a half and was very anxious about how Olive and Smoke would do in boarding. Luckily I’m told they did well. I’m going to pick them up tomorrow. Here are some photos they sent me (of Olive getting cuddles and Smoke playing)

Walter (bless his recently departed soul 💔💔🌈) had a nickname: the fun police. He had no interest in toys except preventing Smoke from enjoying them: no fun allowed!!
