After battling ADHD/RMNP's Timed Entry System, I have made it up to the Alpine Tundra for the first time since 2017.

I'm doing thistle mitigation, but needed something to tend, so this is the 2025 garden: starts that fell off the back of a truck, got run over, but lived and irises I found in a bag behind the garage that are, inexplicably, still alive. Planted in a hole the dogs dug in the middle of the lawn.

Doing Character Design with the discords, accidentally made my first mood board!

I FINISHED HIM. Scytalis, Demon Prince of Statistics and Skincare, for a short story about the mudane-to-profane complications of running Heaven/Hell (they're the same place, Angel and Demon are just jobs in the greater organization). Scytalis is (on average) a gentle and helpful demon (On Average).

Dad said it was very important that Bread Jesus had Bread Nipples. He's been given an egg wash and put in the oven.

BEHOLD! SATISFACTORY DESK ARRANGEMENT!! The rest of the drawers are in the garage. I had a plan involving cross-braces but once I got the facebook-marketplace-free shelves under there I realized that this was a job for Duct Tape.

Mochi is supervising Arts and Crafts Leg Day by running up and down the stairs as I carry things up (bonus agility practice!) and then sitting in the least convenient spot (improv problem solving skills!) and crying when I move him (I'm a criminal and He's sending me to the Hauge for this).

We had to put arwen down today. It was as good as it gets for when a pet dies. It was time,but could enjoy today. I got her a cheeseburger. We took her down to the lake to walk as a family. She was tired, but not in pain or scared I love her and already miss her. But I'm glad it ended this way.

So According to a Q&A with Tite Kubo, Orihime's powers were originally supposed to take on a draconic form, but this was abandoned for... reasons. FORTUNATELY, I AIN'T A COWARD OR OWNED BY SHONEN JUMP:

Question: Of all the characters you have drawn, which one did sensei consider the most difficult to design?
Answer: Shun Shun Rikka, or rather, the image of Orihime's abilities is the one thing which changed the most without quite clicking together. Initially, the story was that Orihime herself would sprout horns and a tail, becoming sort of like a dragon girl.

Below is a sketch by Kubo of Orihime in her TYBW outfit with small, upright horns and a large pale blue dragon tail.

My take on Dragon Orihime, with the same horns and tail as the sketch, but also longer nails, boots that are also sort of dragon feet, and Wings. Her Shun Shun Rikka are now shaped like tiny dragons. her hair has turned blue. Maybe this is some kind of DBZ-style powerup?

The only thing that keeps the squirrels from my crops is my ASPCA Street Mutt, Charleston Chew. Formerly feral, he actually hunts instead of just barking, and the squirrels learned fast to avoid my yard. I recommend pet adoption for many reasons but NGL, garden security is up there.

One of the few good things about this time of year is the albedo, and getting the occasional lavender sky.

Wintertime sky just after sunset. The sky is a gradient of pale gold to lavender to purple to violet. Leafless trees are silhouetted against the gradient.

This is my 17lb baby bastard we got from the Dumb Friends League. Can manipulate doorknobs, faucets, and my emotions. Rules the dogs with an iron paw. Not remotely a Maine Coon, but he's got many of the good features in a more manageable/less allergenic package.
