its kinda funny I fell in love with the gameplay design of Ruina and in Limbus I'm just completely obsessed by the writing, references and everything. gameplay is good, but not 10% of what I enjoyed in Ruina.

BTW I became a theater kid because of the Opera House and Faust. That later let me actually join a good university because writing is one of the biggest point scoring tests in the entrance exams. Cannot state how transformative and enriching this whole ride has been.

Started with Divine Comedy since it was what inspired Kefka ascend to godhood, Flowers for Algernon for Gau, Bragelonne for Edgar and so on. I always believed the potential of games is being able to guide someone outside the gaming space. Sad to see it is immersed in escapism now.

I first started getting interested in reading because of the old interview with Final Fantasy devs saying what was their literally references for the game pivots, mostly FF6.

Because of this game alone, just this year, I've finished around 11 books, 5 related to the game, 2 kinda related. Still going through Barthes works and never been more interested in other books I never read before.

It may be a hard pull but Limbus is responsible for me getting back at loving to read. I used to read a lot as a teen and did theater classes (lmao), writing even a couple of short plays. I stopped after I got into comp sci college.

From Dante's realization, to Meursault growth, to the final end battle, to the ample arcs of conclusion, to the references, to everything. It was truly well thought out, that I have nothing to talk about. It was just done and done.

Canto 10 possibly has the best conclusion of all cantos. Fully digested now and I'm pretty sure it's the best one.

I think this was the best final fight in Limbus? Just for the second part alone. It was very beautiful and fitting, also creative use of the base game systems do pull something unique. I'm really impressed.

Canto X final boss was beautiful. The gimmick this time around was focused on aesthetics which I very much appreciate. However the conclusion was kinda too much? I dunno this final part was kinda weirdly packed?

I wish this game had a chapter select so I could replay specific parts of it, because most of it is a lot of wandering around with boring combat. Seriously though, the key scenes here are incredibly good.
