Another game I'm baking. Cross between Go/Reversi/Tetris and scrabble. #IndieGame #gamedev #digitalboardgame

Paths can now connect to tiles of different heights, though I might need a unique mesh. Probably stairs. #gamedev #indiegame #cozygame #stairs

Nah, if a river replaces a road, there is no road saved, so a reload will only have the river.

It shouldn’t. By last one wins I mean that the last one removes the other.

The wall and rivers only ever cross each other, so the wall just leaves a gap for the river. Roads and rivers can be placed on the same edge. If that occurs, the last placed one wins, but if they intersect rather than share edge then a bridge is made. I’m sure I’ve missed a few edge cases though.

This is basically how sport is played right? #gamedev #prototype #blitzball

That part wasn’t too bad as the walls are drawn from hex vertex to hex vertex around the hex, while rivers are drawn across the hex edge to the centre of a hex. I would say the part I struggled with the most was the road and river interaction, as they both cut across the edge. Especially with lakes

Here’s a “timelapse” of what I’ve been working on for Plateau, told through gallery screenshots. I’m pretty happy with the road/wall/river/lake tools now. Help me get the numbers to go up and Wishlist it on Steam: store.steampowered.com/app/4463590/... #indiedev #cozygame #gamedev #timelapse

Quick tangent to a side project real quick. Who remembers blitzball? I played the shit out of that back in the day. #gamedev #prototype #blitzball #indiedev

Last post of the day I swear haha (I’ve been busy) I’ve also added a timelapse mode, you can watch it in different speeds. Its kind of fun. Especially if you have been building for a while. #indieGame #cozyGame #timelapse #gameDev Wishlist on steam (please) store.steampowered.com/app/4463590/...

I’ve also added control remapping, controller support and on-screen button prompts. The game should now fully playable with keyboard only, mouse only and gamepad #indieGame #gameDev #gameInput #accessibility Wishlist on steam if you want to. store.steampowered.com/app/4463590/...

I updated the main menu for Plateau. It's a bit nicer than a white background now haha. #IndieGame #GameDev #MainMenu
Main menu update image. Now contains a logo, and a background image

Basically just short little feature or funny bug clips as I do them. I’ll do some longer gameplay focused ones when I’m back in the art and polish phase. I will probably cut a new trailer then as well.

Next fest gave me the biggest boost, though the trailer definitely helped. I’m hoping that I can increase my social presence over the next few weeks and boost it a lot further though.

Oh it was just something I built and wanted to show off. The fact that it was a gallery didn’t mean much as far as wishlists go. Just hoping to get it in front of people.

Absolutely, and some games dump them in really difficult to access folders, never to be seen again. Yeah a few more wishlists here and there. I expect a bit more traction when I get back to working on the art though.

I did some work on the screenshot UX, screenshots now saved to a gallery instead of just dumped to a folder on disk. Wishlist Plateau on steam! #indiedev #gamedev #cozygame #gamedev

Only question is where can I hide it haha. Maybe if the user switches language a few times.

I translated my game into goblin to help me test the translation and make sure I haven’t missed any text. Should I keep it in for final release? #goblin #gamedev #indiegames #cozygames Also, Wishlist Plateau on steam. Or Goblins will eat all of your snacks.

Working on seasons and starting to implement the dynamic music I was working on. It’s got a really nice vibe to it. #gamedev #indiegame #cozygame Wishlist Plateau on steam.

I’m working on a dynamic, somewhat procedural audio system for my game, Plateau. Nothing super fancy, just two octaves of piano notes, then I use scale degrees to choose the appropriate notes. Now I’ve just got to work out how to play it. #indieGames #cozyGames #proceduralMusic
