Been my experience that SL's wordy ERP scene has kinda eaten it's own tail over the years in a quest for 'new experiences'. All that's left is either painfully vanilla or so specifically weird it needs a printed sourcebook with pull out map.

Steam has an accessible and easy to use compatibility system that makes it straight forward to try the same installed windows app with different versions of wine without needing to mess about. The biggest issues for me has been no Adobe. Everything else either has native or works fine.

For Windows software where there isn't a native version,the wine application database is fair but tends to be out of date. Best I can suggest is to set up a dual boot, pick a Linux that's designed for gamers (not politics) and to work out of the box like CachyOS and install Win apps with steam.
