Dr Cru indeed!!!!! It's very strange!!!!!

cru @crusdoodles.bsky.social · 20/02/2026

thank you!!! and yeah it's kind of wild, it's very difficult for people to conceptualize just how all-encompassing of a process it is. I'm thankful a lot of my other academic friends I've lost touch with (for years!!) all get it.

decide that if im feeling uninspired with art i should use the time to go back and practice fundamentals > start playing head drawing fundamentals videos > eyes glaze over and grey matter spills from my ears

cru @crusdoodles.bsky.social · 22/01/2025

oooh this does sound fun, thank you!!!

010

cru @crusdoodles.bsky.social · 22/01/2025

110

cru @crusdoodles.bsky.social · 21/01/2025

LMFAOOOOO never seen it and probably never will. Ah, ye olde harem anime.

110

cru @crusdoodles.bsky.social · 21/01/2025

Honestly this is so true and you put words to a feeling I couldn't describe. Like it hasn't necessarily gotten Better, just quieter and more boring.

110

cru @crusdoodles.bsky.social · 21/01/2025

This is actually so hilarious and I can only see it adding to the experience (but I will never understand the plot)

010

cru @crusdoodles.bsky.social · 21/01/2025

I have never heard of this one before and will look into it!!

000

cru @crusdoodles.bsky.social · 21/01/2025

That is absolutely buck wild, I'm sooo curious now. We didn't even finish the reboot our interest just fizzled out

000

cru @crusdoodles.bsky.social · 21/01/2025

LMAOOO we do have to exercise some tolerance when watching vintage animes. We have a lot of "well, FOR THE TIME..." Qualifiers in our discussions 😂😂😂

110

cru @crusdoodles.bsky.social · 21/01/2025

to not consider it a spoiler is MIND BOGGLING so this makes me very interested Also agreed on cowboy bebop, we never felt like the characters landed well enough even though the setting was cool.

100

cru @crusdoodles.bsky.social · 21/01/2025

Ooh I'll make note of this! We try to keep stuff a little lighthearted for pre-bedtime because I get vivid nightmares of content consumed before bed 😩 but when we can watch during the day this sounds pretty cool!

100

cru @crusdoodles.bsky.social · 21/01/2025

I have not seen the original! What makes the og better, in your opinion? I've heard a lot of people say the old one is best/better

110

cru @crusdoodles.bsky.social · 21/01/2025

Thank you for all these reccs and summaries!!! Deep space nine would probably be really fun, and I completely forgot soul eater existed and now I'm super tempted!

110

cru @crusdoodles.bsky.social · 21/01/2025

We are actually tempted to watch kill la kill! I'm curious about details just so we have a heads up (and also weeps, just tell me the tits arent jiggling during exposition 😭 it's so hard to focus)

110

cru @crusdoodles.bsky.social · 21/01/2025

I've seen good things about that one! I'll have to add it to our list!

010

cru @crusdoodles.bsky.social · 21/01/2025

Oooh thank you for these reccs AND the summaries!!! Those are genuinely so helpful and appreciated!!

000

cru @crusdoodles.bsky.social · 21/01/2025

She also fetches the dryer balls that fall out when I'm getting the laundry but she likes to tear those up; win some lose some.

000

cru @crusdoodles.bsky.social · 21/01/2025

I started training her to help with laundry to give her a job and now I have to do so much laundry to keep her entertained (she brings kitchen towels to the laundry room, hands me laundry from the sorting piles, and brings laundry I drop when I take it from the dryer to the bed to fold 🥺💖)

Stuff weve watched (or started watching) but haven't cared for: fma, trigun reboot, she-ra, cowboy bebop. We are not opposed to watching 'trash' if we know it's trash, but there's got to be something at least a Little intriguing about it to keep us on board. The more unhinged the better.

100

cru @crusdoodles.bsky.social · 21/01/2025

Actually yes anyone who sees this please tell me good animes/cartoons to watch. Or other shows that have a 30-45 minute episode length. Our faves are hxh, yyh, dungeon meshi, spy x family. Big fans of sci-fi, don't care as much about slice of life. Good world building is really a highlight for us.

I have been watching a bunch of series to wind down at night but like... UNTIL ARCANE.. and then Gurren Lagann.... Every show we watched was mid and sparked not a single creative spark 😭

010

cru @crusdoodles.bsky.social · 21/01/2025

ive been doing pretty much nothing besides 1) dissertation and 2) being a dog mom to a very high drive spoiled princess. so im like. desperately needing creativity in my life again. ive started reading witch hat atelier to spark something! id love to see the artist's process.... the lines....
