I imagine it's because Claude envisions a dynamic app (a shared checklist) while GH pages is static only

Is this something they are trying to call consistently now or was this a fluke? Historically I thought post-shot fouls were free real estate for defenders to vent their frustrations on attackers' bodies

Some guy once recommended "satisficing" over "optimizing" and I thought that was very good advice. Why dwell in agony over a 1% difference? You could be out riding!

Coming from the world of electric utilities this doesn't seem that crazy: buyers have to pay a lot for those future monopoly revenues. At least sports teams don't have legally mandated profit margins! But maybe I have Stockholm syndrome

Social media amplified the importance of "pick your battles". When you constantly push back against the dominant group, even when you're right (or especially because you're right), they will see you as a threat to destroy regardless of your intentions/allegiances. But I respect your endurance! 🫡🫡

idk about "novelists, journalists, and power posters [lol]" but those of us inside the corporate machines are drowning in the AI slop sprayed around by our coworkers as artifacts of low effort box-checking exercises. Making writing sound not-AI is a useful way to signal you actually tried

Nah. I hate trump as much as the next guy but this is a story of weaker than expected US demand + innovators dilemma. Japanese and European incumbents are fucked too. Too committed to obsolete 3rd party supply chains to vertically integrate a la Tesla or the Chinese upstarts

In this case it's the opposite! Williams's parents only got into the country because they lied about being Liberian refugees. Their kids are now Spanish citizens. It's fun because both pro- and anti- immigration people can interpret this as a point in their favor. The world refuses to be simple!

Indeed. But we don't use the word "refugee" to describe people moving for better economic conditions. Overusing that word falsely damages the reputations of the countries of origin, which reinforces colonial tropes about Africa being violent, destitute, and chaotic.

I know immigration is a fraught political topic but you seem to be misinterpreting my narrow point about what the word "refugee" means as a broader anti-immigration point. It isn't!

An incredible journey, but not really refugees. They emigrated from a peaceful country for regular "better life" reasons, not desperation

I don't know anything about NWSL safety attitudes in general but I do know that air pollution is bad but requires long term exposure to matter. 2 hours of strenuous exercise is equivalent to ~40 hours of resting respiration, which is ~nothing in the scheme of lung damage from even 200 AQI air

I suspect this "minimal refereeing" is coasting on expectations that can only be set by a higher degree of refereeing the rest of the year. Apply minimal reffing the whole time and we will end up with a very physical game with less utility for fine ball skills (the more fun part, IMO)

Proposition: You can defend with 11 behind the ball in a low block but you give up offsides to do it. Offsides is turned off if all of the defenders are on the their own side of the pitch.

That isn't because of weird hand ball rules, but because of weird asymmetric corner rules. FIFA decided VAR can change an incorrect corner into a goal kick but not an incorrect goal kick into a corner.
