I would say we have gone too far away from out of hours care in medicine. It should be the prime requisite for a career in healthcare. Are you prepared to work 7 days a week? No, then don't bother applying

I'm not sure that the drive to "specialist care" in the NHS can be described as a successful strategy if it's only available for 5 days a week in office hours. So much emphasis on "demand management" for patients to not go to A&E. What about other bits of healthcare?

James A Michener actually did a good demolition of him in the book "Caribbean" in the 80s or 90s. In fact it isn't a bad read as a chronicle of history in the region for anyone not acquainted
