Hua Cheng is wearing a leather bracer around his wrist, with his sleeve tucked into it, while Xie Lian is in his normal long flowy-sleeved robe. In the first, Xie Lian has his hand over Hua Cheng's, his ring and little finger curled slightly, while his pointer and middle finger look to be two knuckles deep into Hua Cheng's wrist, through a seam in the bracer. Hua Cheng's hand is open as if ready to cradle Xie Lian's hand in his own. In the second sketch below it, Xie Lian's hand is pulled back a little, almost resting in Hua Cheng's. There is a little "-!!" from Xie Lian as a persimmon seems to fall out of Hua Cheng's wrist from the pocket dimension where Xie Lian's fingers had just been. Hua Cheng's hand is poised perfectly to catch it before it falls to the floor.

Hua Cheng's nose is buried in Xie Lian's hair and his arms are wrapped fully around Xie Lian's shoulders, while Xie Lian's arms are around Hua Cheng's torso. Both their eyes are closed, Xie Lian is definitely fast asleep, face buried against Hua Cheng's chest. Hua Cheng is not wearing an eyepatch, and his scarred eyelid is visible.
