P.S. failure to yield charges is not how you fix this. Police enforcing criminal negligence is how you fix this. (As much as many people despise the police monopoly on violence, you need enforcement and consequences to have drivers that don't suck.)

On the plus side, cops on the scene didn't buy it: The driver was issued summons for failure to yield to pedestrians, said an NYPD spokesperson, who declined to provide the driver's name.

Fun fact! The cost of training for a CDL is basically the same cost of training for a basic Dutch drivers license! Infrastructure does not matter as much as enforcing driver quality.
