Our son is in Supported living. Recent reassessment from Housing Benefit credits him with a Post Office Savings Account. News to us all. HB have provided the last four digits of the account. Cannot discover how to reassert his ownership. Can anyone sign post us how to start the process?

Our house had a landline. My girlfriends family did not. She would go to a public phone kiosk by her house and call me at 10 pence charge. When her 10 pence ran out I would call her back. It worked. We got married.

Sitting in a cafe. Music over the house system plus some dude broadcasting his personal music choice, possibly from a phone. Why? Earbuds are really inexpensive. Much better experience for them than going into competition with the house system. Make it make sense for me, please.

Interesting post. To me the ability of English to adopt foreign words and phrases is a reason to celebrate. In the same way that immigrants have enriched this country so the inclusion of these words and phrases elevates our language. We accept, adopt rather than take. That is how I see it.

The English are the same about food. We will culturally appropriate any nation's cooking without the least shame. In the UK curry is ubiquitous. On Merseyside we have curry halvie-halvies. That is curry poured over rice and chips on the same plate. Favourite order in a takeaway.
