Whatever works to shut him up...

For the life of me, I do not understand why he hasn't been dragged out of the Oval Office by now. Get him out!

Don't forget the duct tape over his mouth.

Blah, blah, blah, blah...just shut up already. What a loser.

CRB @crossbaumann55.bsky.social · 07/10/2026

Wow- this sounds SO boring for both students and teachers. I'd have run screaming from the classroom if I had to teach like this- or "learn?" like this. Who thought this up? Not an educator.

I love those little birds! I don't see them often, but we had one hang around last winter- didn't see it every day, but it was a regular visitor in our yard.

Chewy is the best. A similar thing happened with our Dewey. I’m sorry for your loss. It’s so hard to lose a best friend.

First- Congress can do both, and should. Second, I keep hearing he's thinking of running for Pres. NO. No more old guard, no more has-beens. I want a young forward-thinking person- someone with real ideas and the energy to get it done who isn't corrupt or tempted to be corrupt. I'm 70.

No problem. I have a lot of quartz in my yard in the gravel pathways and in my mineral collection. Just need another tournament to distract me.

Thank you to MinCup admins for a great contest. And thanks to all posters from whom I learned a lot. Enjoyed this so much! My only question- now that MinCup26 is over and Fat Bear Week is over...what do I do now? 🫤

CRB @crossbaumann55.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

gave the first crystal I ever bought as a kid to my granddaughter for her "museum," and it's all over my yard in gravel pathways, chert all over the stream and creek beds here, and the St. Peters' Sandstone just down the road. Closing my eyes and clicking quartz. Oh, cuprite...

CRB @crossbaumann55.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

Well, here I go. Just HAD to be Qtz vs Cuprite. 🙄 I have deep emotional connections to each. But I'm feeling the pull of quartz-first mineral I ever collected, have several varieties including amethyst from a mine in Ontario,

Decision made with the help of bacon sandwiches for supper. You can’t top that smoky, sweet, salty flavor. Halite. But I’ll be ok if cuprite wins, too.

My take from the Smith hearings: To be a GOP senator today, you have to be a lying piece-of-shit, who puts loyalty to party & our lying piece-of-shit president, above their oaths to the Constitution & their obligations to tell the truth & do what rights to the American people! Repost if U agree

I KNOW! That’s part of my problem- halite is useful, tasty, contains fluid inclusions, comes in many colors, can be carved into sculptures, etc. But cuprite…I come from Yoopers so copper minerals are my kind of thing, so just yikes. Tough, tough choice.

CRB @crossbaumann55.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

Oh, boy. Now what? Who can sway me one way or the other? Leaning cuprite but my vote can be influenced- this one is going down to the wire for me.

FAT BEAR SEMI-FINALS! Need a mental break? Need a bit of fun? Vote in the semi-finals today. My heart was with Family 132 and with Backpack, but 910 is a monster and Bucky just packed on the pounds. If 910 and Bucky win today, tomorrow will be a HARD choice.

As I said elsewhere, I’m sure there are exceptions. And there are certainly differences between colleges and universities. Sorry you had a poor college experience. And learning a different paper type each week really doesn’t allow one to go in depth and perfect the form. My opinion only.

This is a revelation to me. Are most history depts not already "service depts"? I assumed they were. In any given year I might teach 500 students, most of them in the intro surveys, and maybe 25 of those 500 are history majors. But it's important to note how admins set these classes up to fail.

Or any other subject because the AP instructors are…high school teachers. There may be some exceptions, but they are few and far between. But it isn’t the same as a college experience.

Quartz for all the reasons mentioned so far. But we haven't talked about the St. Peters Sandstone-almost pure silica, stretches from MN to AR. Great exposure in bluffs along Rt66 in Pacific, MO-about 5 miles from me. Used to pave a portion of Rt66 in the '30s. Ol' time post card... Vote Quartz!
