Good Guys - Gator Days

Good Guys - Gator Days

Characters

August - Alligator - A soft spoken single father who works in IT. Gustopher's dad.

Gustopher - Alligator - An easily excitable child who loves making friends. August's son.

Mewbert and Nougat - Cat - Animal - August and Gustopher's pet cats.

Transcript

Panel 1

August is getting things ready for dinner while Gustopher is on a bean bag reading a comic book with a big scary elk like creature and someone wielding a hammer. The cats are carefully supervising this whole endeavor. Mewbert is sleeping on Gustopher's laps so she can make sure Gustopher is comfortable and Nougat is attempting to sample the food being put on the dinner table to make sure none of it tastes bad. Good kittes.

Gustopher: The heroes in my comic are all fighting.

August: That happens.

Panel 2

Gustopher throws his arms in the air in annoyance. The cover of his comic book can be seen and it is titled "Hollering Eve: Pizza Edition". It's the pizza edition because every time there is blood, they have added the line "OH NO! PIZZA SAUCE IS EVERYWHERE" to make it child friendly. On the cover is some random person named Field who is of no importance. They are holding up a light to a fanged mouth that looks like it's going to eat them. They probably had it coming.

Gustopher: But they're all good guys!

August: Sometimes it's hard to know who is actually good.

Panel 3

Gustopher freezes for a moment. He is pretty sure that he knows who the good guys are. Does he? Maybe he doesn't. He stares blankly into the distance.

Panel 4

Gustopher looks down at his hands. Are they the hands of a good guy? He is having an existential crisis and asks the question.

Gustopher: Am I a bad guy?

August: NO!

Disconnected - Gator Days

Disconnected - Gator Days

Characters

Douglas - Chinchilla - A young boy who is trying his best to be mature.

Ben - Chinchilla - Douglas' father. He's often blunt and has a difficult time connecting with others.

Wendalyn - Chinchilla - Douglas' mother. She likes to go with the flow and doesn't get bothered easily.

Wyatt - Chinchilla - Douglas' baby brother. He's fussy and enjoys making a mess.

Transcript

Panel 1

Douglas runs to his family in the living room. He's been looking for an opportunity to go to the park and it looks like the weather will finally allow it. Wyatt is sitting on his mother's lap with his mouth on a giant toy ring. Ben is sitting in a chair next to them. He's clicking a pen over and over with his eyes fixated on it.

Douglas: The rain stopped! Can we go to the park?

Wendalyn: Sure! Grab your coat.

Panel 2

Ben's eyes stay fixated on his pen. He rests his head on his other hand and stares at it intensely. He keeps on clicking the pen. The rest of the family start to move around him. Wyatt is going to town on his ring.

Douglas: It's warm!

Wendalyn: Grab it anyway.

Douglas: Can we get burgers?

Wendalyn: We'll see.

Panel 3

Ben's fixation on the pen grows stronger. He's starting to click it more rapidly. His family is heading out the door and his wife tries to get his attention.

Wendalyn: Sugar, are you stay-

Douglas: MOM!

Wendalyn: Just a moment, Ducky.

Wendalyn knows that when Ben gets like this he isn't all that responsive.

Wendalyn: I'll get you dinner. I love you.

Panel 4

Ben looks up and now realizes that he's in the living room by himself. He has a vague awareness of what was just going on but it feels like it was happening in a dream. He only has one thing to say.

Ben: Huh?

Productivity - Gator Days

Productivity - Gator Days

Characters

Stuart - Quokka - A perpetually smiling Sectional Manager. He tackles every problem with motivational corporate speak intended to maximize collaboration and synergies among all employees.

August - Alligator - A soft spoken single father who works in IT. Gustopher's dad.

Transcript

Panel 1

Once again, August finds himself at work and carrying a box of various cords and wires to the wire room. This way no one will accidentally mistake them for delicious noodles and try to eat them. Behind him is a sign giving directions to the wire room and the regular rooms. Stuart approaches August with some good news.

Stuart: August! The whole office is getting new plants.

August: Oh? Cool... Why?

Panel 2

Stuart: Studies suggest they increase productivity.

August: How do they do that?

August holds the box of wires higher up. On it is writing "Seriously, DON'T EAT!". It is tragic how often this needs to be repeated.

Panel 3

Stuart: By helping with productivity.

Stuart notices something on his phone and diverts 80% of his mental energy towards taking in that new information.

August: I don't understand how-

Panel 4

Stuart interrupts August.

Stuart: Change of plans. We're getting yoga mats.

August: For productivity?

Stuart: You got it!

It is uncertain if the yoga mats will actually come with the opportunity to actually do yoga.

Last Cookie - Gator Days

Last Cookie - Gator Days

Characters

August - Alligator - A soft spoken single father who works in IT. Gustopher's dad.

Gustopher - Alligator - An easily excitable child who loves making friends. August's son.

Panel 1

There is one last cookie left. Gustopher has had more than his fair share and asks hid Dad if he wants the last one.

Gustopher: DAD! DO YOU WANT THE LAST COOKIE?

August: You can have it if-

Panel 2

Gustopher excitedly turns to grab the cookie before his dad can finish his sentence.

Gustopher: I CAN?

August: IF you can beat me at arm wrestling.

Panel 3

Gustopher freezes. He contemplates this proposal for a moment.

Panel 4

Gustopher holds up the cookie to father, a disgruntled expression is plastered on his face.

Gustopher: Take it.

August: You don't want to try?

Gustopher knows that he has no chance against his father is also aware that his father would never purposefully throw a competition. He has accepted his fate.

Gustopher: We both know how this ends.

Gustopher is right that August was planning at absolutely demolishing his son at arm wrestling. He is unaware that August was going to split the cookie. August still splits the cookie. That's the extra special happy ending that people who read the transcript get to know about. Don't tell anyone, it will be our secret.

Morally Complex - Gator Days

Morally Complex - Gator Days

Characters

Gustopher - Alligator - An easily excitable child who loves making friends.

Liam - Capybara - A quiet and introspective boy. He enjoys writing and learning about things. Ember's older brother.

Ember - Capybara - A LITTLE GIRL WHO LOVES SNACKS AND YELLS EVERYTHING! LIAM'S LITTLE SISTER!

Transcript

Panel 1

Liam and Gustopher are doing their assigned reading in Liam's bedroom. Liam is lounging in a bean bag with a juice near by while Gustopher is staring at the ceiling in Liam's bed. Someone's ears can be seen behind the bean bag. They're making good progress but Gustopher thinks the book is odd.

Liam: Did you finish the assigned reading?

Gustopher: Almost, but I'm confused.

Panel 2

Gustopher holds up the book and the title can be seen. It's the literary classic "Dan of Mean Tables". Gustopher looks agitated and voices his thoughts.

Gustopher: Aren't the main characters supposed to be good guys? Sometimes they do bad stuff.

Gustopher prefers a clear division between good guys and bad guys. Good guys do good stuff and bad guys do bad stuff. Simple.

Panel 3

Liam finds this to be an interesting thought. Dan of Mean Tables and his friends can be rather naughty at times.

Liam: They're morally complex.

Gustopher: I guess... It's different from most stories.

Liam's sister, Ember, can be seen sneaking up to the juice box by Liam. She awaits her time to strike. She is a morally complex protagonist.

Panel 4

Liam defends the book.

Liam: It's more like real life.

Gustopher: I don't want real life. I'm in it all the time.

Ember reaches out to swipe the juice box. It's the perfect crime. NO ONE WILL EVER KNOW!
