If you're in the Niagara Region this summer, make a point to visit Lakeside Park and take a ride on the carousel! Originally carved in Brooklyn, NY between 1898 and 1905, it was moved to St. Catharines in 1921 and been there ever since.

Hockey Canada trial update: Tyler Steenbergen continued his testimony from yesterday, mostly about the group chat. The chat was started a week after what transpired, and was started by Dillon Dube, who added everyone that was in that room to discuss the night's events. (1/11) 🧵

Watching Rogue One again. One thing hit me: Jyn, while still ambivalent towards the rebellion, is asked if she could stand having the Imperial flag reign across the galaxy. She says "It's not a problem if you don't look up." I feel that's where many of us are at right now.

If you've seen the movie Dark Waters (and I highly recommend it), you know about PFAS - 'forever chemicals' that don't break down - used in a variety of products for decades that have contaminated waters around the world.

Hockey Canada trial update: After 9 grueling days, E.M. is finally done with her testimony. Though doing so from another room, via CCTV, I can't imagine how hard it was to talk about what she went through AND go through FIVE different cross-examinations (one for each player on trial)! (1/10) 🧵

The talk show - the most comprehensive production we've done in the program (so far 🥲) - went great! Our group really came together so well in the end through everything and pulled it off! Some pictures of everyone involved - couple group shots, our two hosts, our prof, and the production team!

pressprogress.ca/doug-ford-cr... Ford complained how people receiving social assistance are "sitting on their couch and watching Flintstones"? I'm sorry, is this the 80s? Waiting for him to tell us to get a job by walking into the business and asking the manager for one.

Been at college every day for two weeks - and will do so for at least one more week. Been realizing it's affecting my mental health, as I've had little time to process my personal thoughts and feelings. If you see me on here this week, venting my personal thoughts and feelings, that's why 🥲

The finished product! A few edits here and there to make a clean sound - putting my voiceovers at the right spots and lowering the track volume while it's going. Thanks to anyone who's watched this - let me know if you enjoyed it and whether you want any other behind-the-scenes looks!

Step 6: The final hook! I'll be having my final voiceover go over this track. Next step: The finished product!

010

Croc Monk @crocmonk.bsky.social · 07/02/2025

Step 5: Adding another hook! Pretty much a repeat of the last step. I realized later my voiceover between the hooks needed some music behind it (you'll see what I did soon) Next step: Adding the final hook

000

Croc Monk @crocmonk.bsky.social · 07/02/2025

Step 4: Placing the hook! There's a bit of an art to making things sound 'right'. The part I demonstrate here is relatively easy, but there can often be some subtle touches needed to make things 'flow'. Next step: Adding another hook

000

Croc Monk @crocmonk.bsky.social · 07/02/2025

Step 3: Song selection! We want to highlight the music in our IDs, so we usually try to get 3 different songs in there. Next step: Finding the hook!

000

Croc Monk @crocmonk.bsky.social · 07/02/2025

Step 2: Recording my voice! This is where it starts to get fun! Coming up next: Starting the mixing process

000

Croc Monk @crocmonk.bsky.social · 07/02/2025

Inspired by a classmate who recorded their own creative process, I've recorded a series of videos, demonstrating the creative process I use to produce Station IDs! This is the first step - writing the ad! Hope you enjoy this behind-the-scenes journey!
