Sobre «esclerófilo» y «esclerofilo». Font Quer, P. (Ed.). (2001). Diccionario de botánica (2nd ed.). Ediciones Península.
An excerpt from page XXVI of Diccionario de botánica by P. Font Quer (2001): "No se diga, pues, «esclerófilo», como suele..."An excerpt from page XXVII of Diccionario de botánica by P. Font Quer (2001): "hacerse a menudo, si lo que se desea expresar es la idea de una hoja dura, como la de muchos árboles y arbustos mediterráneos, sino esclerofilo (árbol esclerofilo, planta esclerofila), porque «esclerófilo» significa «amigo de lo duro»."

Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Curtis Gates Lloyd. Lloyd, C. G. (with Stevenson, J. A.). (1909). Mycological writings of C. G. Lloyd (Vol. 3). doi.org/10.5962/bhl....
An excerpt from page 38 of Mycological Notes by C. G. Lloyd, Polyporoid Issue No. 3 (1910): "Our American mycologists had almost as much trouble with it. Professor Peck solved it in the usual way by discovering that it was a "new species" on two occasions (Polyporus Beatiei and Polyporus lactifluus). Ellis probably got the name from Cooke as he distributed it as Polyporus Anax (2d series, No. 1595). Morgan³⁶ got it right, and I judge it was from Fries' publication that he reached this conclusion. This was all done before I began the study. There has been no confusion concerning Polporyus Berkeleyi since I can remember. Even Ellis had it right during the latter part of his life."
