I’ve actually been pleasantly surprised that I hardly get any calls on my cell phone from US phone number for spam. But I get three or four a day that are Canadian. I believe that’s because there was some sort of fee for issuing a number in the US that hasn’t happened in Canada.

I tend to think I'm not interesting to certain types of people, and that's ok with me. I am a self avowed geek and tend to vibe with others like that. I know sometimes that monosyllable response is 'I'm only staying here for a while out of courtesy, I'm not attracted to you in person'.

That's why I prefer walking or coffee as a date 0 so I can either vibe and have a good conversation back and forth or not. My no conversation monosyllables never go to a date 1. Well, they did at one point sometimes but I learned that lesson. I have bailed in less than 30 minutes on some.

it cuts both ways. I've had to really really work on not filling lulls in conversations with babbling, because I naturally talk too much. I tend to get monosyllable answers. of course if I'm being honest, lately I've just stopped trying to use the apps.

oh I understand that 100%. Even though it sucks for me. My Situationship was a GF for about a year, then breakup, then she said "hey what if we just f*ck". after 6 months of that I figured out I was really unhappy outside of our weekends. I know I'd be unhappy so it's easy to stay platonic.

We had talked kids a bit and she had said she was surprised to hear of a parent that worked well with their ex with their kids, but I guess still remaining friends with someone I used to be involved with while they were fighting liver cancer was a step too far. But I'll choose helping everytime.

It doesn't help that I'm helping my former 'situationship' through cancer. I felt i was vibing with someone I met organically last week and she mentioned dealing with hospital visits.

I'm always asking myself that question. I'm happy, but I believe I have the capacity for more. Probably why it takes me so long to recharge and try again when any one relationship goes past a few dates and then ends.

The best thing I ever did on my profile was to put a picture of me at a no king protest. Doesn't matter your gender, a sizeable percentage of people on both sides don't read. It actually became the reason why I was liked by some.

Not all AI is bad. There are use cases for it, and I strongly believe it as a tool for Medical is a great example of a good use case. Especially when there are people who are trained as well as doctors that can analyze and clarify AI results to be able to crosscheck results.

That said, it should be optional. And more importantly, the entire recording should be available to the patient when requested. (ideally anytime they want). Doctors have limited time and recording details is extremely important, but very time consuming.

This is going to sound weird, but I actually think AI use in Doctors offices is a good thing. If your entire medical history and what you have brought up to the doctor is recorded and analyzed, the chances of the AI catching something long before doctors do is pretty freaking high. (1)

That's why I am here mostly. Although, I will point out that in RL, you rarely see someone with a UofL jersey at a UK away game. Even if it's limited expensive package tickets in the Bahamas, some UK fan will buy tickets just to cheer against UofL. It's an obsession.

The place we were in was built in the late 60s in Chicago and the walls internally are concrete. It would be cost prohibitive to move walls/plumbing. There are different levels of ADA compliant rooms, and barn doors allow people with walkers or girth to be able to navigate easier.

I don’t have time to go and look at their website but just had this conversation after I went to a sci-fi convention w/that setup. It’s for ADA compliance for width. Normal wider doors require structural changes; this is the best compromise when they make minor remodels like updating the bathroom.

Yeah, when we were together, she was present unless something blew up. I didn’t need much, 10 minute conversation once or twice a week and a few texts here and there would’ve been fine and I I would’ve been fine continuing as FWB. But you live, you learn. 🤷

On top of that, her ex was absolutely useless and she never felt comfortable going anywhere because things could blow up with her kids and she’d have to go handle stuff. Part of it was learned helplessness and no boundaries, part of it was parenting style. The fun times together were awesome tho

Yeah, in 2025 it was fine for me because I was launching a kid to college. We are both 50-50 parents that happen to share the same weekends child free, but unless she needed something, I didn’t exist until a text sometimes Thursday night or Friday of our shared weekend.

(The lack of being able to plan even 24 hours in advance, let alone a few weeks, is what caused it to slowly degrade over time to just being a booty call for her, along with a person who could help her when she had an issue. That caused me the step away last fall.)

Yeah. I’m very blessed that my kids got to experience it and they have great happy memories of her. She went to London about a month later with her wife for a honeymoon, and right after coming back had an anaphylactic shock reaction in her lungs and passed at only 42, very suddenly. This was 2023.

My sister got married in one of those rooms, and as part of her day she sponsored a race with her fiancée and me and my boys and some of her wife’s family got to stand and be photographed in the paddock for riders up and watched the race at the rail. Bucket list day!
