If you like Silent Hill and Resident Evil I think you'll end up liking this game, I am working hard to get a demo made, but it's slow to fund out-of-pocket. ompgame.com And check out my #gamedev streams at twitch.tv/crimsonstrife

It's about washed up Detective Jake Dubrowski who's hired to find the missing sister of Darla Brant. It leads the pair to an abandoned Asylum called Fountain Vale, that isn't so abandoned. #indiegame #indiehorror #horrorgame

This is your regular reminder that I am working on a "neo-noir" (I recently learned that's what the setting is probably called) 3rd person survival horror game called One Man's Poison. @ompgame.com (WIP ANIMATIONS/ITEM SYSTEM) #gamedev #indiedev

Did you know that I am developing an RE4-style survival horror game called One Man's Poison @ompgame.com? Did you know that I regularly stream said development at twitch.tv/crimsonstrife ? That even includes digging into troubleshooting and problem-solving live on stream. #gamedev #indiedev

In case anyone was concerned about the sudden change in stream schedule last week, and my silence on said change, I had a car accident and have been dealing with Insurance things. I'm fine, though from seeing how hard the guy hit me (his truck bounced off) it's sorta surprising.

Almost done with the base #3dmodel for the protagonist of my #survivalhorror #indiegame "One Man's Poison" @ompgame.com I just thought the censor blur was funny, he's a Ken doll under there. I'm still getting used to #Blender over #Maya, but next it's on to doing some detail UVMapping. #gamedev

I had an old character design from an unfinished #gamedev project like a decade ago. So I've started the process of getting this little guy turned into a 2D model. And conveniently since he was from a game, he already has lore too! 2/2 twitch.tv/crimsonstrife

I'd been kicking around the idea of getting a #vtuber model to use when I don't feel like using my facecam for streams. The issue was I didn't have a channel mascot to use for the design and I didn't think the standard ones would fit my brand. Then I remembered... 1/2

Mine actually has a glitch right now, I think it's happening if you're grabbing the item too quickly after it's placed, it leaves behind a ghost item. That item can't be interacted with so it isn't a true duplicate, and it is gone upon re-opening the inventory, but it is still a problem.

Being sick, and not streaming, hasn't stopped me from working on the Inventory System for One Man's Poison @ompgame.com , I've still been doin' #gamedev things. There is now a working item in-game (more or less, it doesn't DO anything yet) bsky.app/profile/crim... #indiegame #indiedev #solodev

Still not a functional inventory yet, a lot of backend work left to do, but I am using layered Render Targets in my #UI widgets to fake a 3D case, along with an opening animation for an #RE4 -like UI for One Man's Poison @ompgame.com #GameDev #UnrealEngine #IndieGame #IndieDev

085

Crimsonstrife (Patrick Barnhardt) @crimsonstrife.live · 24/10/2025

For @ompgame.com I've been making things harder on myself by wanting the inventory items to be "tetris-like" in having shapes. But this was the result of me gaslighting myself regarding how the original RE4 and even the remake handled it, they were all squares or rectangles.
