I am doing way better this go around at getting the SSTV images than I expected. Last time I had little to no luck and with bad weather had hoped for one or two at best. #hamradio #amateurradio #sstv

2/3 of a clear #SSTV image from the ISS event this weekend is better than nothing. #hamradio

Had our first official cutting class Sunday. Since most of the people were very new to it we just stuck with paper cutting this time to work on edge alignment and overall structure. Got some good feedback/advice and am now trying to figure out the best way to hang a roll of paper at home. #HEMA

Celebrated getting my general license by making another faraday tape antenna. This one is for 2M and is almost 6 feet long. #hamradio

Been studying the last month and change and after having taken and passed a bunch of practice tests I went and scheduled to take my #hamradio General license test tomorrow morning. Wish me luck.

Ohh a SSTV event from the ISS is coming up next week. Hopefully I have better luck this time getting images. My luck receiving them when the use the 70cm frequencies has been very hit or miss. #hamradio

Got some brackets to hang my sharp on the wall. If you don’t have a wall sword are you really doing #HEMA?

Just about a year after getting my #hamradio technician license I have started studying for my general license. While not necessary with that has come a desire to learn CW (morse code) at the same time. Using an app for now but may check out Long Island CW Club at some point when I have more time.

Because of vacations and other events we have going on, I am going to be teaching our Intro 1 class today for the first time. I have done the last one in the series before and its not THAT difficult, I just don't have as much practice as the usual instructors and don't want to forget anything. #HEMA

Found a new student waiting at the #HEMA gym when I got there yesterday. What they lacked in power or size they made up for in footwork and speed. (They were safely relocated to the plants outside)

#SERFO weekend is over. Fought in sword and buckler yesterday afternoon and it went about as well as I expected. I lost all 4 of my matches but scored a few points and got one very pretty thrust in so at least there is that. Mostly it was just fun to hang out with other #HEMA people all weekend.
