There are plenty of queer folk in this group (including myself) and this level of hate towards our community shows perfect reasoning why pride exists. It's not flag waving, it's awareness of a minority. It's not a road closure, it's an openness to everyone to be allowed to legally be themselves. It's not "who gives a shit where you stick it" (well, evidently, you do), it's telling governments to not roll back rights during an epidemic of right-wing media scapegoating lgbtq+ folk for existing. And it's not 50 or so people, it's a whole town, a whole country, a whole fucking world filled with folk like me. Cool off, touch grass, get educated and never say shit like this around us ever again.

It's Hastings Pride today and this is my surf whatsapp group chat. All because a road is closed for an hour. Utter prick.

Text message reads: The whole beach front road currently closed. Traffic and people pissed as stupid diversions etc. It's for a 'pride' march of like 50 or so flag wavers.
Great way to piss people off and turn those that would otherwise not give a shit what you put in your ass etc.
