I'm sorta the opposite. I prefer the revised line a lot and most of my DBT knowledge came after discovering Isbell so his live version was the first way I heard it. But I find it interesting because this is the most deliberate or noticeable revision I think he's made to a song he sings a lot.

Great work. I've now confirmed that my wife just thought the lyrics included the "a" and my son has never heard the "a" and refuses to acknowledge it moving forward. That's going to be a dinner conversation when he gets home.

I didn't hear "a" (and I don't think he sings it that way live anymore), but I took it as him having relatives in Mobile Bay because he's the youngest son and his older, deader brothers are scattered around. He was expendable like them. But if he has a wife and kids, it's even a harsher story.

I'd challenge you on that. I saw the Weber and Cooper (1-10 final season) eras. '84 loss to Murray State. Loss to Syracuse as 30+ point favorites. Bobby 2.0's last season, including the game where Ga. Tech had more TDs than 3rd downs. I do think we've had more highs, but the lows were brutal.

Still counts. Yes, we are going first weekend this year. That's largely why I didn't try to get Shoalsfest tickets after the DBT announcement, but also had plans this weekend to make it an easy decision. Are you going back? I assume it's an either/or for most people (including me).

On the other end of the Bourbon and Beyond concessions spectrum, this hefty chicken kabob and fries meal cost me $22. Really great flavor. Way more food than I wanted or needed too. Bad news is that it wasn’t as easy to eat as o thought a kabob would be.
