Is it just me, or is it becoming increasingly clear that there’s no amount of warning or explaining that will change the minds of the terminally MAGA. In fact, it only seems to fuel the hubris. Not saying don’t resist, but we all know where this is going. I just hope they suffer as much or more.

I love it like some might love a sibling. Because I have to. Even though we don’t always get along, there is a natural urge to protect it. And I do love its thoughtfully established foundation of a Constitution and of Rights & a gov’t designed with checks and balances I believe was meant to evolve.

Weird and random: I changed out my air filter today and why did I draw a broken heart when I dated it?? I’m not a doodler or particularly emo like that. The only thing I can think of is that my 16yo cat Cocoa had just died the week before, so I know I was sad, but…geez. I don’t remember doing this.

I know. I read all comments before responding, including yours. I do understand what anecdotal means and I’m not making a sweeping generalization that homophobes are “likely”closeted and self-hating. But I think it does happen and it’s okay to talk about it. I’m interested in why it happens.

Can confirm same, and a friend revealed that one of our most racist and homophobic fellow colleagues was harassing and threatening him after rejecting his advances. And he didn’t deny it when called on it (got mad, though). Anecdotal, maybe, but a seemingly common one.

Are some people maybe missing the point here? Saying, “I’m white and I voted for Harris” doesn’t accomplish a thing, except expose a self-centered interest in deflecting blame. We (ww) collectively failed. Let’s own that and think about what we - as individuals- need to do differently.

So do victims of transphobia. Two things can be true at once. What’s more, members of the LGBT community are FOUR TIMES more likely than non-LGBT people to experience violent victimization, including rape and sexual assault (Source: Williams Institute UCLA). Not that you care, I’m sure.
