love reading a 12 year old girl in 1911 write a mech pilot tweet in her diary abt the experience of driving an automobile

plaque at a local museum. "No girl, unless she knows how to run an auto, knows how it makes you feel, to push one thing, pull another and start a machine to moving that weighs so many more times the amount she does. Sort of a thrill, an uplifted feeling as though you were doing something wonderful. You are, too! Fancy moving something that weighs TONS by a few twists and turns.
