Ok maybe you shouldn't settle here...
A spooky mist-filled forest full of standing and fallen dead trees. All stripped of bark. Holes of dirt have been created in the grassy floor.

Depending on what you do, you might unlock different buildings and rewards. Going all-in on sheep might just earn you this really large and fancy wooden sheep statue! #indiegame #indiegames

A wild boar searching for food 🐗 Each animal in the game has its own behaviours which you can learn and use to your advantage. Boars, for instance, often create dirt piles when they forage. You can use this to ensure you always have enough dirt to create roads. #Nature #Indiegame

That's what it felt like for sure! You can find some cool secret tech from these ruins too if you have the right type of researcher so it checks out ^^

My world spawned me next to this structure and I thought it looked cool (this is randomly generated!) #Citybuilder #multiplayer #indiegame
A pixel art scene with a small circle of stones consisting of 6 manhirs is surrounded by ruined buildings amidst a forest that's currently in the transition of summer to fall with half the leaves having turned yellow and orange while the other half is still green. The scene features one deer looking towards the center, as if planning to visit the altar itself.

Will your researchers find the secrets of this world? 🔎 #indiegame #citybuilder #indiegames
An oak forest scene with a single yew tree. Within it, a researcher is inspecting a circular altar table closely whilst in the shade of a massive yew tree. Some light passes through the pixel art leaves and shines on the stones, making it easier to see for the researcher. Around the tree two rings are formed of large menhirs. One close ring right around the edge of the leaves, and one reaching exactly to the length of the shade of the tree. Ruined buildings fill in the gaps between the menhirs and the floor is covered with mushrooms, daffodils, fallen leaves, and rocks. A red fox is sneaking around in the top-right corner of the image.

The new yew tree is... appropriately large 🌲
A yew tree about 5 times the size of the cart is shown in a field. It's branches and leaves reach everywhere.

I don't think we've shown this sub biome yet! Inside you can find: 🐜Ants 🐗Wild boars 🌲Pine trees 🍂Lots of fallen needles & trees #citybuilder #indiegame #nature
A brown tiled underground with a colour matching that of pine needles. The landscape contains small pine trees dotted around among some longer fallen trees. A few rocks are scattered around with a wild boar walking next to one. Some pink coloured flowers grow on the ground.

Each Circle of Stones looks different. You can use these to discover various magical recipes and units~ #indiegames #indiegame #citybuilder
Four stone pillars stand visibly among the river birch trees. A fifth is hidden behind a small tree and a sixth can be seen broken on the ground. They make a large circle in the middle of which a small stone altar can be seen. The ground is covered in grass, ivy, wild wheat, mushrooms, fallen leaves, and some stones. Some grasshoppers can be seen at the top-right pillar.

We've added schematics to the world generation :D The first one? A reworked circle of stones! You can use those to grow magical yew trees or discover how to train druids #indiegame #citybuilder #indiegames #magic
A circle of large menhirs is surrounding an altar table made out of stone. The circle is in a dire state. leeks grow in the surrounding ground and dirt patches are visible - breaking the grass. The top and left-most menhirs have fallen over and are broken at the base. A pool of water surrounds one of the standing menhirs.

Crumble of Civilizations @crepuscularfluffle.bsky.social · 17/11/2025
ah sorry for the wall of text! I always get exited when people ask us ^^ Also, to clarify because it might be read the wrong way: I meant that there are 501 UNIQUE resources right now. Each of those unique resources can have multiple states. So a sheep, for instance, counts as 1 entry.

and are forced to release them in the field within a certain distance :) Strategically taking care of your environment is a big part of the game. In my most recent session I actually managed to trap some pheasants and kept them safe, resulting in a lot of nests and eggs everywhere ^^'

.. slowly eat all your crops over time! 3: "Plagues" which happens when your mice are eating your entire field without any predators. If resources get too happy (this includes things like trees :P ) they might spawn predators! So in this case it might be that you'll be given free owls from the game

Crumble of Civilizations @crepuscularfluffle.bsky.social · 17/11/2025
1: You release the birb! In which case it gains a bonus based on what it likes and dislikes and ALL surrounding resources do the same. Placing too many mice in a field will result in your field being eaten! 2: The animals do something themselves: Leave mice in your field for enough time and they'll.

There haven't been a lot of posts recently because I've (Merlijn) been working on adding functionality to all our animals. Each of them has it's own movement, preferences, and "plague" rules. This means each animal/resource can influence the world in 3 ways:
100
Crumble of Civilizations @crepuscularfluffle.bsky.social · 17/11/2025
Yes it is! It's a bit hard to track them but our resource folder currently has 501 entries (resources can have more than one image/version) but that also includes things like trees, rocks, grasses etc. 52 of those are birds!

More fall coloured trees in the small village I was testing with! I really like the combination of greens and oranges #indiegames #citybuilder #indiegame
A small tent and a wooden hut stand on the edge of the cloud wall. From among the clouds oak trees emerge, showing their green and orange leaves. The art style is pixel art. Both buildings have a red outline around them and a yellow collect icon above them.

Not all of them are equally easy to find though! Here's one I just found tucked away in a nearby forest
Half a circle stands amongs the riverbirch trees. The altar stone is covered in spring fieldcaps an wheat is slowly growing towards the center. A careful observer might notice the green bush crickets sneaking around in the image.

A small section of river. We're testing out new tilesets for the edges at the moment which is why some tiles look a little different! #indiegames #citybuilder #nature
A river moves from the bottom-left to the top-right. It's filled with all kinds of fish and some coots. On the bottom, the river is surrounded by reeds. A small section contains a clearing with some frogs. A path leads from the bottom of the picture to the right - passing the clearing so that the river can be accessed. Some pheasants are chilling nearby among the riverbirch trees.

There are all kinds of rewards in Crumble of Civilizations. Taking good care of your sheep might just earn you a wood-carved statue! #multiplayer #citybuilder #nature #indiegame
A massive wooden statue of a white sheep with two lambs. The mother sheep is sitting on a raised wooden platform like the ones you see in museums. One of the children is standing proudly on top of the mother sheep while the other is holding a pose - raising their two front legs in the way a horse would.
On the front of the statue a plaque can be seen. It contains no text.
Around the statue is a field of flowers absolutely filled with all kinds of sheep both brown and white.

Early settlements can benefit greatly from nearby slate as it allows you to map out the world. Without it your civilization will not remember where they've been - turning the surroundings into a wall of fog once more #indiegame #citybuilder #multiplayer
Two small huts made out of sticks are placed on some dirt surrounded by grass. The top-most hut shows spears stuck in the ground while the other has a sheet on the floor - either to draw upon or as a way to keep tools from being put on the dirt directly. On the left slate rocks can be seen. They mostly consist of smaller rocks but one large slate outcrop is also visible.

Depending on where you live, you might find ancient druidic knowledge. With it, you can train druids who can manipulate the growth stages of nature. #indiegames #indiegame #citybuilder #multiplayer
A druid stands on top of some branches. A hourglass icon is shown above their head and both their staff and the cap on their head is surrounded by glowing particles. Their eyes show streaks of particles slowly flying upwards. Nearby an owl is facing away from the druid. On the right a tent can be seen.

We've added a priority system for all gather (and gather-like) buildings! 🎉 Finally, no more accidentally cutting down your favorite trees #indiedev #citybuilder #indiegame
A building consisting out of some sticks and a tent cover stands in a pixel art forest. Around it are symbols of logs with either an X, or a number between 1 and 5 - indicating that tiles gather priority. Most tiles show a transparent X symbol, except for the deer, some of the large trees, and the slate rocks.
