iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

Ive been picking at this for a while. I don't do a lot of digital art anymore because of *motions at everything* but that doesn't mean I don't miss it. I'm going to try and fix that going forward.

Digital art done in a vaguely art nouveau vibe of me with green hair and a pair of white snakes on my head. Crowned with hawthorn branches with red berries. A pair of brown wings with gold eyes behind. I'm wearing red coral beads in the traditional Slavic manner but a medusa pendant in place of the lunula. I have foxglove flowers in my hair and am flanked but datura flowers.

Mead is just slower to get going and mature than regular wine. I always point folks to this book if they are interested in trying it out. Absolutely a godsend for making funky wine and mead. And very easy to find cheap second hand.

She jumped into the tub with me, on purpose, because that's just how Bengals do. But I caught her because I did not want a soggy cat in there with me so she got her own playtime when I was done.

Little preview of something else I'm working on. Don't mind the derp python. They are just like that.

Zoom in on a drawing of a persons face with gold snake eyes, hawthorne crown and a very derpy looking ball python. This is normal as all ball Pythons are derpy looking.

Before and after drawing out cuts and then taking the drill and Dremel to it. From here there is lots of sanding and smoothing. Then paint and sealant. Check how thick it is on the beak cut outs!

Some trimming and layering later, time to start adding details. My partner seeing the leftover bowl of flour paste on the kitchen counter multiple times this week "have you been failing to make pancakes all week or, wait... Oh wait... I'm an idiot."

Tried my hand at plying. It's really no different than making cordage in concept. I was worried with how springy this was it wouldn't come together but it did.

Oh! Went to check mail and this poor thing was tangled up in the cobwebs on the garage door! I genuinely thought they were straw at first so good one there buddy you almost got me. Missing a leg but might make it. Poor little thing! Still very feisty at least. #invertebrate

It's got a beak now. With the base shape done its building layers and thickness to make it so details and finishing doesn't melt it.

Case in point. Here is a wearable head piece/mask I made years ago. It's a little lopsided and I would do things differently now for building understructure. But! It is lightweight, durable, and water resistant. Yes to install the hair I took a power drill to it and sewed them in.

An eagle mask made of paper-mache with leather fringe and wool hair. It looks like bone.

Some wip of paper mache I'm working on. Do not dismiss what you can do with it. I've barely begun and I had to use heavy shears to cut out those eye holes. When I'm done it will be hard as wood and can be sanded and drilled. Paper, water, flour. No glue, no boiling. Finer paper = finer details.

Couple bonus shots for the trouble. I will post here in this thread as I clean up more.

Finally cleaned up some of the photos from this weekend. The creepy vibes out in that desert are immaculate. If you are seeing this again it's because there were some oops on the first version of this post. Fixed now. :)

She loves getting brushed. So when she heard the scratch scratch of the carder she immediately jumped up to join me demanding her turn. Which of course I had to oblige.

The right/bottom is my first try. Left/top my second. Getting a hang of this I think.

Thank you! I'm definitely trying to get a hang of it. Same batch here. As far as the wool I picked it up back in 2017 from the Black Sheep Gathering in Eugene Oregon. I can't tell you which vendor or anything else. Also ND folks are sleeping on this craft, it's fidget spinners with a pay off XD

Also if any fiber arts people can tell me what the hell kind of wool I have here that would be awesome. It's certainly not murono. It's very strong but not super scratchy.

I had a big wad of unknown wool sitting around so I decided to get into spinning. Made a drop spindle out of spare polyclay/chopstick/wire and got to it. Am I good at it? Probably not. Is it fun? Absolutely.

I'm not sure, but I think I just had a data harvesting bot pop up in my notifications. The account is 4 days old, not following me, and has posted nothing but probing questions to authors. It felt off.

I used to finish writing a book in under 6 months. I used to draw something to completion a couple times a week. Now I can't remember the last time I wrote. Now my tablet has a thick layer of dust. The ideas are there but the desire is not. I know I'm not the only one. I witness a sea of silence.

Her pattern is the same 'alien head' pattern wild type ball pythons have but because of her color morph I can't unsee the little troop of Kodama marching along her side. Even if a few of them are cyclops. 😁

I rehomed my spiders today. It was good to see them go to a keeper I know will take good care of them. Now I know what species I really like so in the future when we move I know what to get again. It was just going to be too tricky to bring them with. Going to miss the curly hair the most.

Traced this because I'm not interested in picking a fight with a hack. But here is a great example of why everyone needs to look past pretty rendering. Is it just bad anatomy or is it ai? Does it matter? The original picture is shooting towards 200+ notes. Please use your brains my god.
