What does winning or nomination mean to people 2, 5 or 10 years on. Follow up interviews - did they relax having peaked or does it spur them on motivationally?

Thank you to the Bluesky community who have carefully read & engaged with this piece. I’d also urge you to listen to the Professor Simon Baron-Cohen interview that I embedded. I can only include last 3 mins here but he gives precise chronology..including how he was cleared of plagiarism

I've just been awakened to think for myself rather than floating in the sewage filled lazy river of media and social media. Will Self's analysis of events leading to the death of Professor Jason Arday. Read it and think! #Thinking

Solar eclipse this evening, 3 different techniques to capture the view. #eclipse #lightthroughthings

Multiple images of the eclipse on white card captured through the larger holes of a chestnut roasting pan so the card had to be further away to focus due to the large holes.

Small image of the eclipse captured by dirext phone photo with strange blue cloudlike alien shape surrounding which I cannot explain.

Trial and error photo of crescent sun eclipsed by the moon giving a dark background sky and an orangehalo around the white crescent sun.

I would notice less mistakes in online news headlines, where the headline is the opposite of the story. Also internet searching would hopefully go back to being useful... Actively avoiding AI

Inspiring visit to see #StainedGlassMuseum exhibition of painted glass by #TamsinAbbott that illustrates the book Wild Folk. Beautifully detailed painting & scraffito work is so intricate & the beautiful mouthblown glass chosen is allowed a staring role elevated by her designs. #Stainedglass #Ely

Flyer for the Tamsin Abbott exhibition of Stained Glass made for illustrations to the book Wild Folk. The image shows a magical colourful swirling blue green yellow sky like the northern lights with a painted silhouette of a rider and horse approaching a hill topped with trees.

Did you hear Nick Heyward from Haircut 100 on Radio 2 Sounds of the 80s last night? He chose Each and Every One as one of his best songs from the 80s and said he would love to come and see you at the Moth Club. I sang along loudly and felt so smug I already have my tickets!

This is a must read / must listen with a valuable introduction from Naomi Alderman. Careless people have a lot to answer for.

Cover of the book Careless People by Sarah Wymm-Williams. Orange background with a blue square with some legs sticking out.

I pulled out this root 18 months ago and it still comes back all over the garden!!!

A 3 foot long tubor and root of the white briony plant. Although it is a vine with pretty white flowers it is poisonous and grows toxic berries which can be a danger to some animals.

110

PJE @creativitysilver.bsky.social · 17/05/2026

From the wildlife trust website.... White bryony is a climbing hedgerow and woodland edge plant that flowers between May and August. White bryony is actually highly poisonous. The roots are particularly toxic and, despite their bitter taste, sometimes get eaten by cattle with fatal consequences.

A stained glass window of kings presenting their crown like gifts to the christ child. The fine painting detail of the robes portray the oppulance of the draped fabric cloaks. All trimmed in gold one wears red, one green and one blue.

Continuing the ammonite theme here is the latest experiment. Dove Screen Enamels were applied over a vaseline resist. Given the smoke & fumes from the kiln firing I would not recommend vaseline & will be trying other resists. Keen to hear suggestions... #Stainedglass #Fusedglass #Doveenamels

A round transparent waterglass circle with coloured enamels applied over a resist to leave cler patches in the shape of an ammonite. The enamels in blue, green and orange are swirled into each other giving varied colour effects. The glass circle is in a black metal display stand.

A fused glass panel based on my father's fossil collection from holidays on the wonderful Dorset Jurassic Coast in the 1960s &70s. It missed #Artadventcalendar as it was a present! #Stainedglass #Fusedglass #Kilncarving #Glasspainting

A blue square fused glass panel with 3 kiln carved ammonites, a black glass paint seashell and seaweed, a copper shell and copper wavy seaweed inclusions. The panel has bubbles from the fusing process in the kiln and a hole where a big bubble popped which people have been kind enough to say could have been deliberate (but it wasn't).
