But at least I can take the solace in the fact she’s influenced me so deeply instead of certain members of my family. It’s that influence she gave that helped me become who I am today, & it’s been a core part of how I’ve come to meet the awesome people I know now. In short, she saved my future.

(3/?) She’s why I can even handle everything I do today. Without the guidance and advice I got from her, I don’t know if I would even be functioning. Even when my actual mom failed majorly, my nana stepped up. The loss won’t fade. It will only be easier to bear, bit by bit, with time.

(2/?) It’s always hard at this time of year, & I still mourn losing her as a parental figure in my life. I know what some people might think. “It’s been so long, so why does it still affect you?” She was my supporter when nobody was. She stood up for me, protected me, taught me, even cared about me.

(1/?, rest will continue in comment section) Today’s post is somber, but it’s another year since my nana passed(May 08, 2008) after an 8 year battle with cancer. She was my grandmother, but she was very much a mother to me. Because of her, I learned many things which help me even now.

As a neurodivergent/neurospicy girlie, the atmosphere & vibe of the place were perfect, especially with the friendly staff. Please don’t remove those beignets from the dessert menu, but I’m definitely going back again sometime! TLDR: Had dinner at The Olive Tree. Loved it. This teaholic approves.☺️🍵

Had dinner with mom today at a cozy little Mediterranean restaurant called The Olive Tree(not Olive Garden). Tried both the fire roasted lobster tails & the scallops. It was delicious(though the seasoning was a bit more than my personal preference). But omg, their beignets! ✨

Make sure to have some food that can be cooked quickly(or in the oven) so you can have warm food without freezing for it. 🍵 Also, stay warm, hydrated and safe! ✨

In short, sometimes it’s the action itself that matters most in the moment. Even if you don’t see it yet, you will and it’ll get easier. Have faith in yourself. I’m rooting for you. 🌻

000

Creative_Teaholic @creative-teaholic.bsky.social · 27/08/2025

(2/2) At the end of the day, it’s a matter of showing yourself that you gave it your all, and you’re doing it for you. If someone doesn’t like it, fine. If they try to be a troll, they’re not worth your time. But the right people will come, and you’ll feel better for doing that thing for yourself. 🌻

100

Creative_Teaholic @creative-teaholic.bsky.social · 27/08/2025

(1/2)It was a little easier in my case because some of my family & a lot of people my age were cruel to me over the years. I got to where I don’t do it for anyone else, sometimes not even myself. I do it to prove I can do it. It isn’t ideal, but for me, it’s enough to sever the proverbial chains.

Creative_Teaholic @creative-teaholic.bsky.social · 26/08/2025

Hi, leaflings. Sorry I was quiet lately. I’ve been having a rough time, the worst of it being over the weekend & this past Sunday’s what would’ve been my nana’s birthday. She passed in May of ‘08 & was like a mom to me. Luckily, I feel like I’m getting better & want a cozy stream. See you today?🌿🌻🍵

Creative_Teaholic @creative-teaholic.bsky.social · 21/08/2025

Those who troll others like this are scum. She’s an amazing human being. It’s sad to see people can be so cruel. Emi, if you see this, know I haven’t been able to tune in your streams much, but what I’ve seen was wonderful. You’re a light many people turn to. Please don’t let trolls snuff it out. 💖🌻

🌿✨Hi, leaflings! I wanted to share a positive message for those who need to hear it today.✨🌿 (Unrelated note: I will be having 6 streams this coming week. Stay tuned for a post later today with more info.)

Artwork of an ancient forest is in the background. The text reads: “Let this serve as a reminder to all: You are stronger than you believe. You are more than those around you out to be. You have your own talents, thoughts, feelings, interests, and dreams. Love and be supportive to yourself first. Don’t let the worth of your ambitions and goals be determined by those who should support you no matter what, regardless of whether or not they actually do. You are beautiful just as you are, and nobody else except yourself can tell you otherwise. Give yourself a kind thought and gesture everyday, even if the thought and gesture seem small. Many of us were broken by society and those around us. But, we can repair and strengthen what is broken, and make something better from what no longer improves our lives. Whether or not someone said it already: I’m glad you’re here. Love yourself and take your time. You’re a living testament to overcoming pain and strife. I’m proud of you.” A sunflower emoji is at the end of the text.
