Lord of the Flies was always one of my favorite books. It wasn't until more recently that I learned how he was talking about Europeans specifically. I can't remember if he realized that, or we just understand it from a decolonial lense.

When people become too defensive (or even agressive) I leave their space. The last thing I want is to be somewhere that I'm not wanted. Or to have to put the energy into defending myself because of a miscommunication.

No one wants to have to read between the lines, or think of how someone might internalize things. I avoid a lot of the more problematic symptoms by removing myself from those situations. I only lash out when I'm backed into a corner.

I'm tired of needing to validate the manifestations of my BPD symptoms because they're primarily internal. Part of the treatment for Quiet BPD is learning how to show that you're even upset at all. And people with classic BPD rarely have that problem.

I didn't say anything wrong, or anything that I regret. The last thing I wanted was another person being aggressive towards me because they also misunderstood me. And the embarrassment of being misunderstood to the level of being treated like an outsider in the community.

Deleting a comment you made that the author very clearly misunderstood the intention of is not dirty deleting. Especially when you're simply leaving their space, but don't want to leave the comment there where more people can just jump on the bandwagon.
