AVIF leaves JPEG XL in the dust, as they appear in word form. 1. One word 2. Two syllables 3. Entirely rectilinear 4. "AV" snuggled up, spoiling us with diagonals 5. The regimented orthogonal tightness of "IF". If only. JPEG XL is akin to a Range Rover in the city. A cock extender.

I feel that Scott, Wes and CJ present a reasonable and balanced stance on the whole AI space. That's not so easy considering the relentless noise out there.

I've been using npmx fully aware that it is not a package registry itself. So far I've been happy with the extra sugar and anything in the subjective realm. That said, my bias could be that I generally align with the previous work from the core developers.

Appreciate the authenticity, Kevin. Shining a light on a perfectly normal feeling that lurks in the shadows. A self-conjured illusion we'll all stand face to face with at some point (or many points) in time. Stand there with it. Keep standing. Watch its strength diminish. Thank you Kevin.

Standardised lexicon/nomenclature. I'm not interested in that hurdle of mapping conceptual names to the thing it actually has been called for decades. ✅ Settlement founded ✅ Garrison walls constructed ⬜ Summon the couriers

Feels like there's some redundancy and poor chunking/hierarchy happening. Group: Fun and games Fun and games (group) I dunno, personally not a fan of ampersands in microcopy.

I can't stress enough how important it is to make an example here. Take all the money from these companies. Find alternatives. Vote with your pockets because fundamentally money and power is everything to these insufferable pricks.

We (Sentry) gave $750,000 to Open Source Maintainers. That's pretty incredible. I love that Sentry puts so much effort into supporting the ecosystem. Feels good. blog.sentry.io/we-just-gave...

Not a fan. I always balls up and get a load of jank. However it is possible I've yet to encounter a well executed one.

These two posts within three days: 1. @samuel.bsky.team's blog post mozzius.dev/post/3l777nh... 2. @rich-harris.dev's twitter post xcancel.com/Rich_Harris/... A welcome wake-up call. Twitter uninstalled and account permanently deleted. Feeling "lighter" after going all-in on Bluesky!

Agreed. First time on that view felt like whack-a-mole with the icon clutter. I would drop the icon there altogether and look for a more nuanced contrast in that heading.
