Massive C and just barely below O(n3) so not super useful yet for anyone but other researchers who might take it further. So interesting? Sure. Useful? Not yet.

New standard for announcing “my robot did some cool math” needs to be that the thing your robot did has some practical use. Like I get this was cool in some theoretical sense but it’s not actually useful to anyone other than other math/CS people.

“Put the USB device magically into the VM” is a problem though unless you magically tunnel everything. And by forcing cloud-only on many things now they’re breaking stuff that used to work. And surely confusing the shit out of users who wonder why it can’t access their stuff any more.

I mean it’s supposed to be at least able to access your files but often it can sometimes and then just fails a lot. And not being able to Bash() properly cuts out like 50-75% of what I use agents for.

It’s computers elsewhere that can’t access your files or run any of the programs you have - at least that’s been my experience so far. Nothing works; it’s like regressing to 2025 chat. In need my agents to be able to access my local stuff!!!

Probably also bunches of engineers idled by the schedule shift to trying to get the swarms to not escape so much which has now cascaded down and some engineering VP was like "so what'll we have them all do for the month where they were going to be doing ____ before the scheduled flipped upsidedown?"

I hate when it asks me five questions and I answer two of them then notice the other three and add a follow-up comment but it’s already built a seventeen part dynamic workflow based on the first two and now I don’t want to interrupt it.

This is pretty funny too. Should I turn off "Contacts", or "Contacts", or maybe "Contacts", or "Contacts"? Nah, I'll turn off "Contacts", I bet that'll work.

Also no "-" for "Automation", nor a bunch of the other privacy/security lists. About ⅔-¾ of then seem to have them, the rest don't for reasons best know to some Apple PM; probably the problem is there's a separate PM for each panel and they didn't all read the memo.

Craig Hughes @craig.rungie.com · 03/10/2026
And there's a "-" for files & full disk, but NOT for "contacts" so when your node MCP server reads the contacts SQLite file then it's just there forever I guess (unless I ask Claude to figure out what obscure command would delete it from the registry I guess)

Craig Hughes @craig.rungie.com · 03/10/2026
Any clue which ones are the OLD entries versus the current actual one? Neat that they added that tiny "-" button at the bottom – hadn't seen that and it didn't used to be there. Be nice if they used fseventd to just unregister that shit when the file went away or new one showed up at the same path.

"Access the files on my computers please" seems like the most basica requirement for software running on my computer. Otherwise, I'd just run it in the cloud!

It already fucking resets every time there's a new nodejs version so I have 17 "node" apps in my system prefs authorized for full disk access (only 1 of which actually still exists on my system since each has over-written the previous one for the last 16 version updates).

If only there was some technology that could personalize this for everyone. Like know that person and what’s painful for *them* specifically and demonstrate in an ad how it will pay the $20/mth back on day one of each month.

IMO there's a tremendous danger in having too many phds at a company – I call it "phditis" – where the training is "spend 8 years on something, then publish at the very end once you've ironed out every possible wrinkle that you can find."

There’s a Google form they set up when I pointed out the problem (perhaps independently but it showed up after I asked). You don’t need to use open review to submit.

One thing nobody seems to be pointing out with the Hawks/Hawkeyes thing is that the "text messages from your team" seemed to have absolutely nothing to do with either Hawks nor Hawkeyes - one mentioned some seat numbers but the others were just nothing to do with anything?

> From October 6, new Cowork tasks run in the cloud and the “Only on this computer” option goes away. ...oh fuck; I was hoping this wouldn't happen until they made the cloud shit actually work. So many things that just don't work in the cloud sandbox that work fine on my local machine.
