Working on Midnight Dreamer from The Wooly Ewe, using floss left over from my Pirate Robin thread pack for Cozy Nest. (Also using the thread pack for The Proper Stitcher's Merry Ewe, and likely several more projects bc WOWZA got a lot of floss!)

It's not even close to the called-for colors (except black), and I have since learned that the printed DMC 14 count should not be used with designs that have white (this extra backstitch. It's Time for Halloween from Witch's Garden Crafts, finally done.

In the Night Forest, Riolis kit. Saw this on 14ctAidaGirl's flosstube & got my own kit immediately. Really want the finished piece, but it has been a pain to stitch. I think I'm near 50%?

Today I have the fun of wearing jeans that aren't altered yet. The pockets are laughably shallow. The waistband is too wide. There's not enough fabric in the seat. This combo means even with a belt, I need a long shirt to keep from flashing underwear if I bend or sit. At least I *can* fix them. Sigh

I can't start a jackalope until I finish a jackalope (it's a necessary rule). There's nothing left but 1500+ backstitches and some cross stitch flower centers!

Working on my Bat Mobile again. The Bat is from Nightspirit Studio's Gothic Ornaments: Bat. The canvas is black plastic, 7 count. "Thread": now-discontinued Encore DK from Plymouth in 208/white 217/black 999/dark red and 1386/bright red. Hoping for 8-12 bats, will depend on when the yarn runs out.

Three stitched bat-shaped outlines in white on black plastic canvas. The bottom of each wing section is being filled in with bright red. On the top two bats, the bright red sections are finished, and dark red is filled in above them. The bats are still see-through because the black fill for the rest of the shape has not been started.

I will finish my 40ct linen project, Dreaming of Autumn Leaves. I detest the fabric enough that "finished" = the first 2 pages, with mods to make it work. As I have 20 stitches in Dog's Declaration on similar linen, I'm restarting on 18ct celadon rather than hate another project I want done!

Today I'm trying to finish my 2nd January Wipgo, the Epic Fandom Band Sampler. Finished all of Band 4. My goal is 2000 stitches/month. I'm at 2,658 backstitches. I usually count 2 bs = 1 stitch, but this whole thing is backstitches. So I'm either plenty done, or 1400 stitches short.

Got past the first full moon on this year's Moon Phases Temperature Chart from Climbing Goat Designs. It's very green! Opted for another cross stitched chart this year instead of a knitted or crocheted blanket. Next year, could be either!

A partially stitched gold and silver border frames what will be a year-long calendar of moon phases. Each day is represented by one moon stitched in bright colors corresponding to the high and low temperature for that day.
Currently, there are sixteen moons shading from pale purple through purples and blues to a bright green for the full moon.

Another finish! (Who am I!?!) Opening Gambit from Long Dog Samplers, started in 2023, finished today. 3 over 1 in DMC 310 on 14ct fiddlers cloth. Not Small. And omg how do you do alt text for a Long Dog? I tried!!

I'm not sure how to alt text a Long Dog. It's mostly chess-related imagery all blended together. Upper right, there's a giant elk standing on a giant travel balloon with the words "your move" over and around it. Upper left is a castle with animals: monkey, elephant, camel, possibly a human. From middle left to bottom right, there are three huge black triangles filled in with motifs, including chess pieces. left is a very tall rook and cornucopias, middle is queen, king, bishop with a lit candle floating above, right is a tall knight, the year, my initials and an unlit candle above that. Behind it all are mounted, armored knights crossing a series of arches. Bottom left: a gryphon fights a dragon as two dogs and a teapot ignore them, below that a hand reaches for a pawn on a chessboard. There are kiwi birds sitting on two other pawns, and a tiny bird on a third pawn. And there are more motifs hidden everywhere! Bugs! Butterflies! There's a tea table with mug under an arch. There's a fox leaping off a tower. Random flowers. A bat. A small island with a tree for no reason. It's packed with motifs, and was a lot of fun to stitch.

A finish! Delia Conger from Antique Needleworkers. 18ct ivory Davros, silks from stash. This is my 2025 blessings sampler, and it is, in fact, finished in January!! #crossstitch

A stitched reproduction sampler in pink, blue and a touch of green. The center box contained an uppercase alphabet, with a lowercase alphabet underneath it, then a row of uppercase vowels, including Y. Under that is the name Delia Conger, the girl that stitched the original sampler, under that a pink wavy line. Outside the central box is a third alphabet, in fancy uppercase script which runs from the bottom left corner, up the left side, across the top and then to the bottom right corner. There is only one letter, either an I or a J, in the appropriate spot for both. There is a row of pink flowers, three inverted interspaced with two upright, across the bottom of the sampler.

I knit, too. Pulled out my Addition by Subtraction mystery SAL shawl started in 2018. I'm off pattern now, but keeping the spirit of the slip-stitch sections. This will be a loud shawl someday.

Garter stitch shawl partially knit. Alternating stripes of burgundy, peach, yellow and a cream base with flecks of all three. There is a thick burgundy section overlaid with cream slipped stitches in an offset grid pattern. A similar peach section overlaid with yellow has been started.

Almost have the first page of Dreaming of Autumn Leaves (Rosewood Manor) finished. Will only be doing 2 pages, slightly modified, because I want something I can frame (it's pretty!) but hate stitching on this linen. Now that I've decided I don't need to stitch the whole chart, I'm enjoying it more.

Cross stitch on a beige gold linen. Leaves and vines are stitched in shades of red, gold and green, with the word Autumn stitched here and there in different fonts.
