Watched (most of) the Madrid game earlier and fucking hell, Mbappe is genuinely just fucking pony at the moment. Genuinely just gets in the way and makes them worse, doesn't get at or stretch defences at all. For a player as fast and gifted as he is, his movement on and off the ball is embarrassing.

Sherlock. Like, Hbomberguy is right that it was never a good Sherlock Holmes adaptation, but it was a fun showoffy detective show (even though Scandal in Belgravia is, yes, dreadful on many levels). But the last season is just... risible.

I mean, you should just play Iconoclasts, you really should. Great story, and one of the bad guys is a top 5 villain in fiction for me I think. Plus it just plays good, fun to explore, bosses are great.

He could have not deliberately pursued a career that made him famous, for example. One of the steps of taking responsibility for doing something heinous is accepting that you are a person who did something heinous. That has consequences, and some consequences are forever.

Unrelated to Godzilla, but have you ever seen the Korean animation Sky Blue (or Wonderful Days depending on the country)? I ask purely because it has a really cool flight scene that seems at least partly based on the trench run, despite also not being in space.

I could go for ages here, but the one that always springs to mind is Vellum, and its sequel Ink, by Hal Duncan, a series that I really think should be held up alongside any of the 'you really need to pay attention, and read it twice' classics of SFF. It's so, so good at so many things.

I absolutely loved 99% of that book but there was one passage where I couldn't tell if he was making fun of transphobes or just being transphobic, and it's made me hesitant to recommend it around much in case it's the former and it gets to someone. (the overall tone of the book makes me suspect...

I've never seen someone whose job is aesthetics who's so often fooled by aesthetics as Snyder is. Like by all accounts in life he's a lovely guy *and* at least left-leaning, but he keeps making fascist or objectivist films coz he knows what he thinks is cool but doesn't know what an implication is.

sidenote: with what I do know of 40k, and with Stover's style of writing, it is kind of surprising to me that he's never done a novel in the setting that I know of, it feels like they'd suit each other. Wonder if he's ever been asked (I would 100% read it if he did, lol)
