I made more bread today, the Marble Rye Style gluten free loaf from Aran Goyoaga. It's so pretty and tasty! Even my kid liked it and he's able to eat normal bread! Steve the sourdough starter is still going. Fingers crossed he makes it to the end of initial feedings. 🍞 #glutenfreebaking

The pattern that I wanted to use didn't work out for this yarn, the gauge called for was too loose for my liking & I didn't feel like re-mathing it for a gauge I liked. So this is Meissa Pullover by Amy Christoffer minus the eyelet snowflake on the front. Just a basic raglan. 🧶 #lunchbreakknitting

Had a good time at the NJ Sheep Breeders Fiber fest yesterday. I don't need more fleece, but I got a gorgeous Jacob and a grey Cheviot. Also a few tools and couple braids of ShirstyCat BFL top. Really wanted a ram skull from the Jacob fleece vendor but wow, out of my budget. 🧶🐑 #handspinning

I am annoyed. Last week I indulged, ordered some yarn after a very stressful migraine filled work week. It arrived today, 2 of which are Fiberspates Vivacious 4ply. Thought it would be great for socks, turns out Vivacious 4ply is actually a 2ply yarn. WTF. Who names a 2ply yarn VIVACIOUS 4PLY?! 🧶🧦😒

Cold soak no.2 for the grey Romney x Gotland fleece. Changed the water this afternoon, ooh it was nasty. Planning to scour on Monday. After this, just an alpaca fleece left to wash. 🧶🐑 #handspinning #handspinner

Skirted raw fleece has been divided up into approx 1lb increments in lingerie laundry bags, and are soaking in plastic pans of cold water to remove loose dirt before scouring off the lanolin with soap .

Next up, RomneyxGotland fleece. Much looser crimp than the white Romney, but serious drape. Insanely crimpy soft neck wool, & a weird patch of hairy long wool. Very offended at the 2nd cuts slicing through the middle of locks & the fistfuls of 2nd cuts wrapped up in the fleece. RUDE. 🧶#handspinning

The Romney fleece is dry! It went from 6lb at shearing to 4lb 10oz after scouring. Cleaned up very nice, some of it still has loose dirt that will fall out in processing. A small handful appears yolk stained, pulled that out. It's so shiny, definitely spinning some for a shawl. #handspinning 🧶

On my 4th fleece wash I'm leveling up my scouring tools with sifting pans & a new hanging "herb dryer". Also decided that two wash systems at a time is plenty, 3 is too much. I've also been keeping track of how many fleeces this gallon of Power Scour will get through.

3 fleeces left to wash. This Friday will be the 6# white Romney lamb name Lucy. Look at that staple! Crinkle fries locks. Tonight I picked out the gross bits missed during skirting, 2nd cuts, & big VM. Surprisingly only 0.3# of junk! Cold soak into Friday morning, then scouring. #handspinning 🧶

It was a very relaxing Mother's Day. The kid helped the husband make pancakes, I got a nice carry bag for my Traveller wheel, Aldi GF cheesecake. Did some #knitting and spun up the third bobbin for a 3 ply! It's a Shetland nylon blend so it will be socks. And now the bobbins rest. 🧶 #handspinning
