The Smash portion of my YouTube algorithm has been such a fun treat to watch unfold over the past 48 hours.

"Dead Fighting Games" are basically a guarantee for a game's natural life cycle. Nothing lasts forever. But I don't feel like 2XKO got a chance to breathe. Booting it up post-EOS would just make me feel like "Wow. Look at all this missed potential" and I don't like that thought lmao.

Crackin Atkins @crackinatkins.bsky.social · 21/08/2026

I play "Discord Fighters" & "Dead Fighting Games" all the time because I love them. But I feel minimal motivation to keep playing 2XKO after no matter how much I enjoy it. I just feel so deflated by the news and lead up to this day where I'm not sure if I want to be associated with the game anymore.

I doubt I'll ever pick up the sticks, but I might etch out some time to go to Genesis next year.

This year, I've followed Melee closer than other competitive scene, and it's purely due to turndownforwalt content. The game is so legacy driven, while also rapidly changing, and the narrative is captivating. I wanna be there when RapM wins a major but I also wanna see the struggle it takes to do so

I'm literally going to the other side of the world (Japan) in a week to compete in 3 videogames (BBTAG + 2XKO + Idol), and here I am deciding my BBCF religious grind arc starts now. It's so cooked Lmao

030

Crackin Atkins @crackinatkins.bsky.social · 03/07/2026

I'm entering a funny arc where y'all are going to get salt posts from me that are 8 years out of touch because I've been grinding BBCF lately, but like... I don't know what the hell my GOAT Toshimichi Mori was smoking when he designed Rachel Alucard, dude. 😭 What in the world.

Being able to just queue Ranked Matches in BBCF mostly whenever I want in the big 2026 is wild. People go hard for this game!

- Ingrid looks like my type of SF character. - I love Robert, and him being Mr Karate is hilarious to me. - FOMO will make me try this Avatar game. - 2XKO cooked on the Senna design. - Biboo looks neat in Idol. What a perfect time to be overwhelmed by FG choices and ignore all of them to play TFT 😇

I actively avoid horror movies and have seen less than 5 of them in my lifetime, so I don't know how I ended up watching Obsession, but I'm glad I did. Very good movie! We also went to a cat cafe afterwards, which...was a welcome calm, but also very ironic given the premise of Obsession LMAO

Crackin Atkins @crackinatkins.bsky.social · 22/05/2026

Haven't been to Combo Breaker since 2023. Haven't really felt FOMO for it at all until this year. I guess since I'm not attending Evo, it feels like there's a void that needs to be filled. I'll consider CB next year. 🧐

Capcom may never need to make Street Fighter 7 if Daigo wins this set. The impact and ripple effect would be nutty.

I tried watching Oshi No Ko Season 3 last night because I've been really looking forward to it, and I think I'm just gonna have to read the Manga after this season. Having a 2 year gap for a story this convoluted (respectfully) is too difficult. I feel like I need to watch Season 2 again. LOL

Dude, the PR for Capcom Cup has been so bad, I had resigned myself to the idea of not watching it at all this year, and didn't realize they only charge for you to watch the Finals lmao It's still silly they're charging at all. My hype is so deflated for this 😔 Blaz/Xiaohai was an all-timer though!

030

Crackin Atkins @crackinatkins.bsky.social · 02/02/2026

The Sauna was a product of side games getting even more entrants than some main games, while some main games have huge playerbases that are just not fit for side rooms. I don't really have the solution (sorry) but it did make the BBTAG bracket experience rough. We were sweatin (literally) man lmao.

010

Crackin Atkins @crackinatkins.bsky.social · 02/02/2026

I got a lot of love for the anime scene (I am in it), so I feel when people's games aren't treated the way they expect, but I do feel that 5 screen post on the other app was a bit overblown. There's lots worth critiquing about game/room management this year, but I dont think that incident is it.

110

Crackin Atkins @crackinatkins.bsky.social · 02/02/2026

Frosty's was fun! I guess my "best" placement was in 2XKO with a 5-2 record far outplacing my seed. Wish I made it outta pools, but it's ok. The spiked water and the sauna situation (which is what I blame for the smell situation) were unfortunate, but I believe in next year to improve those.

What the hell man. Can we not? Can we please just continue to have nice things?

030

Crackin Atkins @crackinatkins.bsky.social · 28/01/2026

I'm probably not doing work in my games for Frosty's. I haven't really put in any notable hours towards anything (my Caitlyn doesn't even have a BnB combo 💀), but I just wanna have a good time playing games with people who like what I like (and eat deep dish pizza). See you this weekend! Say hello!
