Congratulations to State Trustees Members on this resounding outcome. Thanks to all who participated in the vote on the proposed Enterprise Agreement. With an 88% voter turnout from a workforce of nearly 600 and 97% YES, this is a powerful endorsement of the outcomes achieved.

These social workers, career advisors, injury management consultants and return to work specialists are being thrown on the Vic Govt budget scrap heap, stripping vital services from injured workers at Victoria Police.

Despite the recent, draconian tightening of Victorian legislation, CPSU members can still make mental injury claims under WorkCover.

These claims can be difficult, however if they meet the legal definition and are backed by medical diagnosis, compensation may be payable.

With the Victorian govt moving to decimate our Fisheries workforce, our marine environments really need your help this Easter. Please report incidences of poaching, unlicensed fishing and overfishing. #springst #standup4services

Don’t fall for your employer offering “mental injury leave” for days off with pay & employer-provided doctor visits. This is not being offered with your welfare in mind. It is to avoid WorkCover claims being lodged. Protect yourself and your long term interests.

CPSU Victoria @cpsuvic.bsky.social · 09/04/2025
Vic Govt has withdrawn its COVID-19 leave policy but you can still lodge a WorkCover claim if you contract COVID-19 while working. The law recognises that disease contracted in the course of employment is a workplace injury. Need information or assistance with your rights at work? Contact CPSU.

In an awkward situation where the timing could not be worse, Victoria’s Labor government has somehow put itself in the same lane of public service downsizing as the punitive cuts now being meted out in the US and those heavily promoted by the Federal coalition.

Threatening to upend our rights to flexibility and alternative ways of working like WFH is not on. Flexibility is key to attracting and retaining staff. The Victorian opposition needs to stop playing wedge politics on this issue
A woman wearing glasses is facing forward. The woman is Karen Batt and there is text next to her photo. “Only one person in every six work in jobs that suit this flexible model and the vast majority are women. Playing wedge politics about this modern work approach just creates unnecessary division”

⭐️Union Win!⭐️ CPSU members at DFFH in Ballarat contacted us with safety concerns. Organisers headed straight there to meet members & assess the scene. A significant leak had caused damage, & the area was no longer safe to work in. CPSU HSRs issued PIN to rectify the situation. Well done CPSU members!

While we cherish our hard-won rights at work we must also be prepared to defend them strongly, especially if an incoming government attempts to strip them away.

Anyone for tennis? Did you know that in the first half of the 20th century the Victorian Public Service & several departments (such as the State Rivers Office) had their own tennis teams? Each year the Victorian team would take on interstate and commonwealth public service teams, often victorious! 🏆

If you've been to a CPSU BBQ this year, you've been fed by Peter. You'll usually find him firing up the barbie before the sun is up so members on morning shift can be fed before work. He's a legend. And that is a LOT of sausages! 😳🌭 Good on you Pete!
A man is outdoors cooking sausages on a bbq. A crown has been digitally added to his head. He cooked 2240 sausages this year
