Singapore has today executed 2 more men for drug-related offences, bringing 2026's total to 18, more than all of 2025 (17). It follows the execution of a 79-year-old stateless person earlier this month. UN experts have called for an immediate halt to Singapore's use of the death penalty.

#Singapore's UPR is tomorrow. Since its last review in 2021, it has executed 51 people – 48 for drug offences. Its national report submitted for the UPR process doesn't mention the death penalty once. We've joined 8 organisations calling on participating member states to act. 🧵

11 years ago today, 8 men faced a firing squad in Indonesia, including Australians Andrew Chan & Myuran Sukumaran. They chose to stand unblindfolded & sang together in their final moments. Mary Jane Veloso was spared, but remains detained despite being repatriated to the Philippines. #NoDeathPenalty

Australia, UK, France, Germany & Italy urged Israel to abandon its death penalty for terrorists bill. It passed & will apply almost exclusively to Palestinian defendants. We trust Australia will keep pressing Israel to repeal it. Israeli civil society is already challenging it in the High Court.
