Baltimore has much to recommend it.

All right, I suppose I'll allow it.

The Tandy Corporation, which became electronics behemoth Radio Shack, started as Tandy Leather. It's kind of amazing that in 2026, Radio Shack is dead (well, technically zombiefied) while Tandy Leather continues on.

This mall is in an Orlando suburb and also apparently in 2003.

I was joking in the post yesterday about starting a tiki bar, but, like I said, just in case.
An outline showing a cocktail menu divided into “classic tiki drinks”, “originals/modern tiki”, “boat drinks”, “martinis”, “bowls”, and “zero-proof”

Okay, as much as I enjoyed the Ember heated mug I bought some years back when I was more willing to spend frivolously, I kind of like the $22 mug warmer plate I bought as a "replacement" even more.
A reddish-brown coffee mug sitting on a small, round mug warming plate, which has a black top and wooden sides. It’s sitting on a wooden desk in front of a speaker.

I like a fair amount of the articles in The Atlantic and I even watch "Washington Week", but whenever I come across someone describing the magazine as "leftist", I am that Nathan Fillion meme
Nathan Fillion (from an episode of “Castle”) making a speechless “uhm” gesture.

I am not convinced this is comfortable for either the computer or the cat.

Okay, I get that much of the country/world would say "a week of lows just below freezing, no big deal," but this is FLORIDA.
A 10-day forecast showing lows ranging from 23-30 F from tomorrow on for a week.

This feels like discovering Williams-Sonoma is undercutting Walmart
Clips from store pages on Amazon and Apple showing the same product, a CalDigit Thunderbolt 4 laptop dock. Amazon is selling it for $379.99, pointing out that’s 16% under the list price of $449.95; Apple is selling it for $329.95.

Far and away the best Painkiller I have had from a plastic cup

This probably isn't the strangest garnish I've ever had on a drink, but it's up there.
A clarified milk punch based on the Boulevardier cocktail (bourbon, Campari and sweet vermouth) garnished with half a Samoa cookie

I love this sign Indivisible made for the protest tomorrow.

The one silver lining Florida used to have compared to the west coast—housing costs—seems to be fraying. (N.B.: this list is arbitrarily chosen based on "cities I might want to retire to," setting aside politics—which I wouldn't actually set aside when the time comes.)
Two tables showing rent trends for 1BR and 2BR apartments, in five cities: Sacramento, Portland, and Tacoma on the west coast, Orlando and Tampa in Florida. For 1BR apartments, Portland is the cheapest at $1649/mo, then Tacoma, Orlando, Sacramento, and Tampa at $1956/mo; for 2BR, Tacoma is cheapest at $1958/mo, then Sacramento, Portland, Orlando, and Tampa at $2323/mo.

This makes me love@panic.com that much more. (I've never seen them post for a technical writer, but if they ever consider it, I'm just saying, I'm willing to relocate…)
A clip from Panic Inc.’s jobs page on Inclusion and Diversity, showing a photo of their gender-inclusive bathroom with a badge in the lower right corner reading “YES!! We still believe in DEI.” The page in part reads, “Today our team (and often our industry) is missing the voices of a lot of people who could make our wonderful apps even better. We want that to change.”

Confession: I have never been a fan of Objective-C
The Padme and Anakin 4-panel meme. Panel 1: “What if we put Smalltalk and C together?” Panel 2: “So a new language, not just literally smashing the syntaxes together, right?” Panel 3: [Anakin looks at Padme] Panel 4: “Right?”

Ah, you know you’re in for a well-crafted user experience when this is the first screen you see!
The first run dialog for “Plottr,” asking to choose between a free trial and a purchase. The two buttons are blue square outlines with huge serif text that isn’t centered with respect to the containing boxes.
