I loved ET and watched ET a lot and I still love ET, but I also was TERRIFIED of those shots that were just a close-up of his face, and I'd often have nightmares that I'd look out my bedroom window and he'd be standing there like in the scene were Eliott finds him in the shed.

I don't think Jirschele or anyone can do more than use your instincts in the moment like that, but with 2 outs I'm trusting that one of Martinez/potential relay man/Hedges fucks up more than I'm trusting Meidroth (or most hitters) to come through with 2nd and 3rd and 2 outs.

I am very in favor of aggressive sends like that where the odds of being safe are <50% in the right circumstances. Make the defense do their job and trust that they're also going to fail on occasion.
