As for Roland-Garros, it’s true. There was no physical contact. But, as we saw today, physical contact isn’t the only way to be abusive. Are we so sure he didn’t shout at the ball girl there to cause her reaction?

I find him to be routinely snappy with the ball kids, even if they don’t all rise to today or what he was accused of at Roland-Garros. I’ve been courtside for a handful of his matches and witnessed it. That includes smacking balls too close to kids. I don’t like it and it needs to be corrected.

Just once again registering disdain for the Davis Cup and BJK Cup formats in which doubles is only played as a tiebreak. In BJK Cup, doubles didn’t enter the equation in the two semifinal matches, nor the final. Doubles should be integral, compulsory even, in a team event — not a last resort.
