WaPo editor Will Lewis spotted on NFL red carpet day after killing paper’s sports desk
Will Lewis likes sports. He just doesn’t like paying sports journalists. This was important context because she said that was the year of the Wubble. And this young woman, y'all, Y'ALL, she has no memory of a time when the WNBA wasn't a big deal!! She asked Dr. Cox & Imani McGee-Stafford, who was on the panel, if they saw the current boom coming. But the set up was A+.

Here's a fun story! Today, @courtmcox.bsky.social did a great talk and discussion at Univ of Texas about her book Double Crossover (you should read it if you love women's ball). In the Q+A, a freshman at UT stepped up to the mic. She started by telling us all she was 13 during COVID.

Setting aside Newsom's execrable willingness to treat human rights as a politically negotiable chit, let's not forget that "sports have never been fair," as @jessicawluther.com explained for @vox.com. @katiebarnes.bsky.social makes this point in their book "Fair Play" too www.vox.com/the-highligh...

katie x basketball feelings never, ever misses. on the neoliberalism that creates the environment where folks can no longer "[flesh] an athlete out as a whole consciousness instead of just warming to the details of their body."
