It's preseason and you'll always look good going 11-of-23 from deep. But that half reinforced our main points of the offseason... 1. This unique offense is a great fit for Giannis 2. There's plenty of spot-up shooting 3. The offense reduces the need for more on-ball playmakers

Raptors aren't playing all their regular and this Heat offense is probably not what they worked on in camp, but Heat go for 41 in the 1st Q, 7-of-13 from three and 10 assists on 12 makes while playing with pace. Pretty much everything you wanted to see early from the offense.

Giannis into the wall in transition, kicks to Bam for a wide open trailing three. Going to assume we'll see that about 100 times this year.

You don't come across many players who are more candid than Davion Mitchell. We caught up with the Heat's point guard on The Odyssey, hiking, social media, peace of mind, alter egos, playing with Bam and Giannis, Dragon Ball Z and more. www.nba.com/heat/news/co...

The offseason is over, Giannis is in the building, and it's time to figure out what this Heat team is going to be. Early in camp, we already have some answers on both the offensive (fast) and defensive (switching) identities that will anchor this story. www.nba.com/heat/news/co...

Like, come on, you aren't slipping Mare of Easttown by any of these, and this is a pretty basic list. (Yes, I know this is an industry vote. It's just shocking how little support there is for animation.)

Whoo boy that NY Times list is going to end up being woefully short on animated shows. Love Bojack, but other stuff exists too, you know?

There's a good argument that Resident Evil is one of the most faithful video game adaptations ever made. Your mileage on that may depend on how much you need to hear "T-Virus" spoken out loud. Didn't love the execution of the ending, but it's certainly intentional and on-theme.

Horror-Comedy is an incredibly tough genre to get right, which is why the canon is relatively slight, but Zach Cregger keeps getting it right. RESIDENT EVIL is a guaranteed great night in a crowded theater.

The first hour of HOPE is one of my favorite movies of the year, excellent action filmmaking that puts much of Hollywood to shame. There’s another 1.5 hours after, and by the end of it I was more befuddled and frustrated than with any other 2026 release. Cautious recommend.

How will Giannis and Bam Fit Together? + Klay Thompson Expectations with Couper Moorhead

Preseason predictions are always just kind of there, and mean nothing, but there is a bit of cognitive dissonance in a forecast predicting the Heat to be 7th in the East but *also* a disappointment because expectations are too high.

Klay Thompson had the lowest Shot Quality of his career last season. From that perspective his shooting has upside, even at 36. Do the Heat have enough shooting now? Yes, but that may be the wrong question to ask. After The Buzzer: www.youtube.com/watch?v=hdLE...

Putting Klay Thompson next to Giannis Antetokounmpo is a clear, obvious fit. But because of Miami's (presumed) systems on both ends of the floor, Thompson may be an even better fit than you think. www.nba.com/heat/news/co...

The hype on COYOTE VS. ACME is deserved. Wouldn't even call myself a huge Looney Tunes head and things still got a little emotional in parts. It's not Who Framed Roger Rabbit, but it sure makes an earnest effort to get there and gets closer than most.

At this point House of the Dragon may be the worst show I’ve watched a full three seasons of, at least in the streaming era. Really only watching for the handful of actors making the best with what they’ve been given. (Dunk and Egg was great, fwiw.)

For (mostly) better or worse, SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY plays like a random five-issue sequence of the comic far more than a complete run. It works, with some of the best Spider-Man material we’ve ever had, but it feels incomplete as a feature.

Really thought the Odyssey- a movie that couldn’t have guns or motorized vehicles - might be the time that Nolan would invest in good fight choreography. Alas, he just doesn’t seem to care.

A part of me wants to see the timeline where Doomsday bombs, not because I want it to be bad - right now I’m hopeful but discouraged - but for the chance it improves what comes after, namely X-Men. Of course, it won’t bomb and the train has probably already left the station.

Sam Neill was one of one, an all time favorite who elevated every single thing he ever appeared in. If I were to ever make a movie, I would have wanted him in that movie, both for on the screen and behind it.

Giannis and Bam could be the foundation of the best switching defense of the decade. There is overlap on offense, and that can take time to sort out, but Erik Spoelstra's most recent system may be a perfect fit to grease the wheels. After The Buzzer: www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRW1...

Ryan Conwell feels like the kind of guy who is going to have 16 points off the bench in January when other guys are injured and Spo gives us the, "He made us notice him, he made us play him..." speech afterward.

Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo may be an unconventional, even unprecedented, pairing. That's what makes it so interesting to project on both ends. But as the Heat add greatness to their roster, one thing is certain. The clock starts now. Read: www.nba.com/heat/news/co...

Just 2-of-9 shooting for Ryan Conwell in the first half today (1-of-8 from 3pt) but not worried at all about the jumper. Pretty much every miss has been short, but he gets the shot off in a variety of situations.

OBSESSION is great and Inde Navarette is great in it, but catching up on SMILE 2 last night it's a shame Naomie Scott didn't get as much attention for her performance. A lesser movie, certainly not a sensation, but one of the best scream queen showings of the past decade.

Don't know that I have an opinion fully formed on the one free-throw rule they're testing at Summer League (previously in G-League) but it sure makes for some confusing box scores.

Couper Moorhead @coupnba.bsky.social · 04/07/2026
You legit can barely even score a goal like that in FIFA anymore, and certainly not from that angle. People were abusing finesse shots from outside the box so they mostly patched it out of the game.

The way the ball came off his foot there doesn't look like real physics. (Solid first shift of two-way ball for Ryan Conwell at Heat Summer League, too.)

If we can get Obsession to $200 million, we can get The Furious to $100 million. (Going to take a lot more screens to get it there, which means a lot of people going to see it this weekend.)
