Three years ago to this day we were going through the fight of our lives when the Invasion began at around 3am this morning. Our positions on the frontline east of Mariupol were under intense Artillery and assault by Russian forces.

crazy to believe I first joined the Ukrainian marines six years ago. Serving for four years one of which was mostly spent in Russian captivity and then taking a year off to rehabilitate myself mentally to then joining the International legion in GUR and continuing service in my 5th year here.

Our prison cell in the Donetsk Pre-Trial Detention Center was designed for solitary confinement but held five of us. Forced to sing the Russian anthem daily, endure beatings, and sleep on the floor in freezing conditions, the regime sought to break us. Life had no value here, only survival.

With my own general opinions aside, If the opposition is successful in taking the remaining Ragime territory and ousting Assad for good, Their will be a battle for power between the factions primarily HTS which I'd consider the strongest and the SNA which are basically Turkish backed nationalists.

Throwback to 2017, when my friends and I joined the Northern Sun Battalion, a former FSA unit within the SDF. They embodied the true spirit of a free Syria. Sadly, the Free Syrian Army no longer represents its original purpose and meaning, it was hijacked by extremists.

I took these photos an hour before surrender, after a month and 10 days Russians had destoryed all our ammunition, we had run out of food and our only option was either surrender, attempt a escape from a small area alongside a few hundred other would be escapists or die. It was 50/50 but I survived
