Cos @cospics.bsky.social · 20/06/2026I joined a birding walk this morning. When we saw some double-crested cormorants, someone remarked that cormorants aren't very photogenic, and in defense of cormorants I immediately thought of this photo I took in the Everglades years ago. #birds #wildlife #Everglades 083

Cos @cospics.bsky.social · 04/05/2026Tobaccofish one of my favorites to see, and they were more common in Belize than most anywhere else I've gone diving. They're a small seabass, in the same family as groupers - you can see their seabass-style pointy pupils. #marine #coralreef #nature #scubadiving 030
Cos @cospics.bsky.social · 03/05/2026I don't see spotted trunkfish on the reefs often, and when I do it's usually just one, hiding. But on a snorkel in shallow seagrass near the reefs in Belize, there were several of them, in good light! I love them, they're beautiful! #marine #coralreef #nature 040

I wonder if that's what inspired this change to the song: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hmkt... - did they plan that in advance, or improvise because of this sign? 120

Cos @cospics.bsky.social · 16/02/2025Nearly 5 years ago I got this close-up of a crown-of-thorns starfish on a Maui reef; they're nocturnal and tend to hide, lucky to see it in the open in daylight. They eat coral but in small numbers they help maintain the balance of coral species. Their pretty spikes are venomous. #coralreef #nature 030
