The matrix is a human invention prior to the human rebellion was used to enhance TFs and push them to a higher class of strength and durability once certain criteria’s have been met into primes. Sentinel was the last prime since the tf’s war began and the matrix was lost with the Humans vanishing

Essentially in this AU humans were once a very advanced race and made alongside TFs and were made to maintain tfs by the quintessons, but we rebelled and were nearly wiped out and had a reset. Sentinel is one of the few that remain to know of humans. Basically halo ig lol.
