I rarely buy Pokemon cards but I grabbed 2 packs today and got this pretty Primarina. I know it’s probably not rare but I like it

Pokemon Picross is way more fun when you just cheat and give yourself infinite picrites. Removing the time based incremental progress elements makes the game better, who’d’ve thunk it?

Choosing exactly 9 games most important to me was surprisingly tough. There’s a few that for sure would be on there, but a lot more that could easily slot in depending on how I’m feeling that day

“My 9 Games That Shaped Who I Am” - Diddy Kong Racing - Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga - Super Smash Bros Brawl - Pokemon Moon - Undertale - Deltarune - Outer Wilds - Super Mario 64 - Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask

3 more shinies today for a grand total of 8 for this #RumbleWeekend. I know that's not a lot compared to some people but this is one of my best weekends by number found. Castform was a very cool surprise, not especially common in the GX terminal.

It’s funny, I have no intention of transferring up shiny Crystal Celebi once I get it, so the bank shutdown doesn’t affect this hunt, but seeing everyone else hunt it has made me want to continue mine anyways

Cosmic Sandshrew @cosmicsandshrew.standingintheodds.com · 17/08/2026

These paired releases are kinda ridiculous ngl. The fact you’re basically forced to buy both versions to get the full experience. There’s barely any differences either, they clearly just copied the first one and mirrored it, how lazy can these devs be?

Cosmic Sandshrew @cosmicsandshrew.standingintheodds.com · 13/08/2026

IT FINALLY HAPPENED. SHINY LATIOS IN Z-A I’ve been hunting this thing on and off since 2025. I didn’t keep exact count, but I know for a fact I was way over odds. I was legit worried I had screwed up the setup multiple times during this hunt. So so happy to see him shine!

RetroAchievements hate is so dumb to me. “Oh no, some people are using this service that you have to go out of your way to opt into and is in no way forced on you otherwise” It’s just peak “Quit having fun” mentality Anyways here’s my profile and game masteries, video games are cool

I could see it being loosely based on Lilycove? With the lighthouse in the south, and the ship leaving, that would make the island in the distance Mossdeep

After 53 days I’ve completed my mission, filling every Switch Pokemon game’s Dex using 1 fresh save file for each game, with no outside trading, in order to obtain the 6 shiny mythicals (+Enamorus) in Home. Over 2000 Pokemon total. Very fun overall, glad to add these shinies to my collection.

1102

Cosmic Sandshrew @cosmicsandshrew.standingintheodds.com · 21/07/2026

It’s funny to me most of the old pokeballs with outdated catching bonuses have had their effects changed to still have some use cases, but for Beast Balls they just went “Yeah there’s no UBs in this game, so this thing just sucks.”

Beast ball flavor text in all games. Goes from specifying “works well on ultra beats” to “not very effective at catching pokemon”

First Shiny of #SafariWeek! Shiny Paras after 4810 encounters in Leafgreen! I completely botched my recording, so sadly no footage of the encounter, but here he is in the box. Not the most interesting find, since I already caught a shiny safari paras in this game, but happy to find something at all!

Random thought: it’s weird that so many people (myself included) refer to the daily changing spawns in the Great Marsh as “binocular pokemon” despite the fact the binoculars play no part in actually spawning them. They just show a random pokemon from each regions encounter table.

Legends ZA progress so far! Day 6 for this game, I guess day 46 overall? Beat the main story today, and my goal is to fill out the base game dex as much as possible before starting the DLC instead of just catching everything in hyperspace because this way is more fun.

000

Cosmic Sandshrew @cosmicsandshrew.standingintheodds.com · 11/07/2026

I also went ahead and caught Pecharunt (even though it’s not required) because my dex felt weird without it and I wanted an excuse to play Mochi Mayhem again

Cosmic Sandshrew @cosmicsandshrew.standingintheodds.com · 10/07/2026

Around 10 days later, SV is complete! I thought this dex would be more daunting than it was, but the actual speed of encountering, catching, evolving, etc is all so fast it was fairly straightforward to complete. Shiny Meloetta is a cool reward, very neat shiny. Only one game left!

Hey guys, just hanging out down in Area Zero with the gang, we found this weird looking chansey, probably a future paradox or something, I’ll just come back later to catch one now that I know where they spawn.

End of Month 1, Legends Arceus complete! Very fun game to complete the dex in. Only real sticking points were some Distortion exclusive Pokemon, but even the wisps were better than expected. Kinda surprised the reward isn’t Arceus, but since it can be hunted in BDSP, enamored makes sense.

Cosmic Sandshrew @cosmicsandshrew.standingintheodds.com · 30/06/2026

Time for another odd Legends Arceus visual bug I got Space Time Distortion started forming, but the visual of the distortion bubble didn’t appear at all. (It returned to normal when the distortion formed proper)

On to Arceus! This game is a treat, and it’s been a while since I’ve played it, so I’m eager to play through and complete the dex again

End of Day 21/Week 3 Finished with BDSP! Only 150 for this dex, but the more traditional capture system and certain rare pokemon makes this slower than LGPE Manaphy isn’t that high on my list of favorite shinies, but I have no plans to hunt it in gen 4, so I’ll take it here. Total: 884/2165

I’m pretty lukewarm on BDSP’s visuals, but I gotta say, this game has some pretty dang good battle backgrounds
