There were pics of ne’er do wells on the wall and he could hear Bird Song from the back where a band played and folks had cleared up space to dance. His band guys wanted out. The only way to get them now is by searching the water's edge, especially around nesting sites. Herons nest in colonies and you can find the feathers on the ground. 020

Those long feathers that drape off a heron's neck are much sought after by fly tiers of a certain type of flies called Spey flies. Those are where the long sweeping grey fibers in this fly come from. The white ones are from a snowy egret. 110
