Just uninstalled Element X from my phone in favor of Xmatic which is a really nice native Sailfish OS Matrix client. #matrix #sailfish

Some up to date stats on Matrix. From matrix.org's perspective so actual numbers are higher. Source: dwebcamp.org/videos/peer-to-peer-ma… #matrix

Just finished reading @dim0kq 's book Ordinary man at war. It was really well written and thought provoking book. As a IT guy, dog lover and drone flyer it was easy to relate to thoughts and decisions he made. I'm lucky to live 1600km away from front line, so […] [Original post on fosstodon.org]

My Astro Slide fell and now the screen is dead. I have used scrcpy to mirror it's screen on a computer before, but looks like phone asks for auhtorization when trying to connect to it. Developerr mode is on. Anyone remember what keys can be pressed to authorize […] [Original post on fosstodon.org]

Got @dim0kq 's book from mail today. Looks good with color photos and everything. I'll post more after I've read it. Sorry for dark photo but it's rainy and dark here in Finland. #ordinaryguyatwar #ukraineWar

What's wrong with Mastodon instance if a spinner is spinning below every toot viewed? Smells like some federation issue, but otherwise the instance seems to work fine. Tried restarting the services. No obvious errors in journal. Running v4.5.4. #mastoadmin

More UI confusion or bugs.. probably it's time to move to debian and/or KDE.

Upgraded to my main pc to Ubuntu 25.10. Mistake. The desktop was not working - just black screen with minimalist launcher in bottom. Luckily apps worked and I managed to get some help from Ubuntu Support Matrix room. To get desktop working more, I had to […] [Original post on fosstodon.org]

I have problem with my Heltec V3 node. I installed a 150 Ah LiPo battery in it, stolen from cat toy. Lasted 2 hours 20 minutes. Now it's again in state that connecting USB power just lights up the red light. Nothing else. The light went out after a while so I […] [Original post on fosstodon.org]

Some measurements that might interest Meshtastic folks. I tested a long (maybe 30m or so) cheap cable as "USB extension" and powered a node using standard 5V USB charger. It worked fine, voltage drop was about 0.11 V. I also measured the voltage on node with […] [Original post on fosstodon.org]

Took first steps with Meshtastic. I got HELTEC v3 boards. Some notes: - Flashing was easy, except Ubuntu has Chromium as snap, and it can't access serial ports without command line magic. Bad UX, Ubuntu! - Web configurator is quite good, but could be easier […] [Original post on fosstodon.org]

Tested the Element X Matrix client on my phone for first time. It's going to replace regular Element Android in future. I'm using a Planet Computers Astro Slide phone mostly in landscape mode. Element X uses vertical screen space so inefficiently I can see […] [Original post on fosstodon.org]

I'm looking for suggestion for a new sofa keyboard/mouse combo. Previously I used Logitech DiNovo Edge (in photo) but it seems to be discontinued. Any other good alternatives for a sofa keyboard with integrated mouse? #keyboards #hardware #htpc

Anyone good with Authentik? We are providing Matrix, Mastodon and Mobilizon for Finnish users and using Authentik for SSO. Problem is that when users verify their e-mail using the link, it sends them to login page. When they try to login, they see this error […] [Original post on fosstodon.org]
