As I was watching anime this afternoon, I thought about some of their long ridiculous titles. Especially in Isekai animes. So I opened my notes and made my recommendation for a modern day Isekai series.
Notes app with text reading : “That time I was reincarnated as an anime figure and owned by an ancient magical elf girl who chews on plastic. So now my new adventure begin as
overpowered micro-plastics in her bloodstream.”

Spent the morning learning the "quirks" of Vue's specificity and got this explanation from their docs: "Scoped styles alter CSS selector weight and how component styling rules interact with the DOM." So a simple font change let me down a nightmare of scoped inheritance. I think I understand now.

Since it’s inktober I thought I’d share some of the digital art I’ve made. I enjoy making creepy images. It’s relaxing for me. All made using procreate.

For my new project I wanted to make a simple Pomodoro like web app using Vue. You click to roll a 20-sided die and based on what you roll you'll get a 10 minute break, or 25 minute deep study...ect. The basic layout and function is working enough. Getting used to Vue.

With October and spooky season right around the corner, I wanted to share an awesome horror book I just finished. “The Salt Grows Heavy” by Cassandra Khaw. It’s so beautifully written. Haunting and gruesome.

Logging into my first #100Devs 100 hours project from years ago. Wanted to make some note of things I’d like to update/change. Came across a “bug” where the mood color circle stretches with the container when the description text goes long. Looks wonky but should be an easy fix.
A mood track list with dates posted on left. A color circle in middle. Yellow and blue. And a description text on right the mood color circle is stretched when text goes on for longer than a few lines

Every time I try to adjust and update some gradients on one of my sites, I feel like no matter what I try it looks like I'm making a geocities webpage from the 90's. Which isn't a good thing or a bad thing.

They should make a coding challenge website like leetcode, but call it neat code. Where the challenge answers are given to you in super spaghetti code and you have to refactor it

Something is funky with the schema. when I reload the page I see the name column disappear from the table. Had to reload page in a new browser to continue. Video for reference.

on the 3rd challenge I'm seeing some issues. I even checked the answer and the answer given is throwing errors and saying not correct, so I can't progress the challenges. hmmm....
Rename the columns in your output: return `name` as `pokemon`, `primary_type` as `type` and `total_stats` as `power`.
Hints show how to do this. Answer given is SELECT name AS pokemon, primary_type AS type, total_stats AS power FROM pokemon;
When running that answer an error shows that name is not a column that exists.

Brushing the dust off of some older coding projects. Decided to take some time to update and refactor the code. Working on my word guessing game. Removed redundant code, and fixed an issue where it returned a wrong guess when it was correct. Also, found comments I left for future me.
A comment section in a JS file. "End of test section. Don't mess with other code."
Then the code below:
  if (word === guess) {
      score++
      document.querySelector("#update").innerText = score
      if (score > highScore) {
        highScore = score
        updateHighScore.innerText = highScore
        localStorage.setItem("highScore", highScore)
      }

Well Brazil beat Japan. Still a very good game. Glad I got out to watch most of it and got to eat some delicious tacos.

Trying to get used to Vue and all it's quirks. The conditional rendering is very useful. v-if, v-else, ect. I've been trying out all their uses and taking so many notes. Was refactoring parts of my recipe web app, which initially broke the app till I replaced the now unused code with handleSearch
 <div class="search-container">
      <input
        v-model="searchTerm"
        @keyup.enter="searchRecipes"
        placeholder="Enter ingredient (chicken, salmon, beef...)"
      />

      <button @click="searchRecipes">
        Search
      </button>
    </div>const handleSearch = async () => {
  searched.value = true;
  await searchRecipes(searchTerm.value);
};

Got a 7 day free trial for a sports streaming service to watch the NBA finals and World Cup games. The trial is over and the service is expensive. I still want to watch more World Cup matches so I gotta figure out another way to watch them.

Slowly getting my recipe finder site going. Built using Vue and using TheMealDB's free API. Works well so far. Need to clean up the logic and UI. Ingredients and the recipe instructions look jumbled at the moment and need better spacing and layout. But fetching recipes and displaying images works!

Spent longer than I'd like to admit to get my likes icon to turn red when a user likes a post. Since the "liked" state lives on the database and not the browser, it wasn't as straightforward as I had hoped. After much googling and breaking my site over and over I got it. EJS syntax is wild.
