Interesting #TenMinMerlin today, only heard 5 species in the rain today, but saw 9, including an American Robin, an oddly quiet Black-capped Chickadee, and both a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker and Northern Flicker on the trees

Picking up, 9 species for today's #TenMinMerlin, including a Downy and Red-bellied Woodpecker that visited the feeders but weren't loud enough. Thought the Fox Sparrow was a hallucination at first but then at about 8 minutes saw the big chonker itself show up in the grass and eat seed off pavement

7 species for today's #TenMinMerlin, couldn't be 100% sure on the Blackbird or Robin this morning and also it didn't pick up a Red-bellied Woodpecker or a White-throated Sparrow, latter being a new year bird for this challenge for me

5 species for Sure for #TenMinMerlin, got false positives for Red-Winged Blackbird with Cardinal song and dunno what kept popping up as Carolina Wren and since it gave me a video for that one too I'll just include a screenshot of definites (also had House Sparrow)

#TenMinMerlin had 5 species I could be sure about, House Finches are around but couldn't be sure for the 10 minutes, Song Sparrow only sang once but that's a nice yard bird for me

A look from overnight... Shark's doing pretty well but gorilla close behind, not surprised about gorilla and maybe shouldn't be surprised about shark in hindsight. Am surprised about Haunted Armor, though. Probably gonna try and do more stuff with the forms that do well but don't win later...

Okay finally got my #TenMinMerlin totals compiled for March to May and... happy with the results I'd say. Counted and ended up with 51 species total showing up in my backyard (8 more that I only got on vacation and counted separately)

Graph of species detected at home during Ten Minute Merlin, species started low, averaging about 6.5 species per day in March but closer to 8.5 in April and May. Around then is also when we start seeing 1 or 2 newly detected species every so often

Mkay, here's what I've got for the graph now, usually a new species or two coming in every couple days in April, we'll see how that changes when Warblers hit (though I'm probably going to be in Atlanta during Peak Warbler time here, hoping still good before and after!
