"The whole “Oh no, our models went rogue” thing … When a bridge collapses, you don’t analyze whether the bridge was ethical or sentient or why it decided to collapse. You ask, who is the person who built this bridge to be so flimsy?" www.wired.com/story/one-of...

Every summer I repost this article on how to spot drowning. Please read it and pass on. In the last few years I’ve had SIX messages from people who saved a kid’s life after clicking on the link from my feed. slate.com/technology/2...

Drowning Doesn’t Look Like Drowning

Drowning is not the violent, splashing call for help that most people expect.

Recently, FamilySearch digitized and uploaded tons of microfilmed records, including many from 18th-century Massachsuetts. They're using some sort of AI to transcribe/summarize the handwritten documents. I've noticed that the AI strips out references to race and enslavement in 18thc documents.

I invested in a light table for my traditional work for smiliar reasons! I used also sketch digitally, print In super light blue, finish traditionally then scan in black and white 😂 I’ve not had the space for traditional for a few years though now :(

From my understanding even tracing over a 3d model is aginst the rules as I remember a handfull of artist having their posts pulled when they got pointed at for doing it.

I launched an indie webcomic hosting platform several months ago that offered a free and a $4/mo paid plan. This was purely to cover the cost of the infrastructure. But in seeing it grow, I'm no longer worried about the cost. So yeah Webcomic Studio is now free. webcomic.studio

Trying to find an artist on vgen that doesn’t draw anime is torture actually, they GOTTA get some style filters or something 🫩 most of my ocs are poc or at least not styled in a way that would translate well to anime.

If you have a printing center near you I imagine something like this wouldn’t be too difficult to make 🤔 I think I have a document like this I half finished at home actually

I’m not a moot, but I do enjoy drawing ponies and also enjoy drawing other peoples ocs! I don’t need an art trade or anything but I’d love to draw them for you!

So because, I just feel like having a collection of characters to potentially draw when I don’t feel like drawing mine, if you want some art of a character ( or cool animal, or landscape photo!) as I have time drop a link or image and share this post #artshare #freeart #blackartists

I do think part of it is that when that was coined we also didn’t have a 24/7 digital misery machine pumping global bad news into our brains constantly. It’s a lot “easier” to create when you don’t have doomscrolling to do and only a handful at a time of trauma to process.

I’m not a comic creator but I’d love to be one day, mentorship options that are easy to find would be such a boon. Ik I’d love the chance to work with a lot of artists and pick their brains, I’ve read a ton and watched a ton on making comics but nothing compares to just being able to ask in person!

I think as a general statement one offs and meme doodles will get posted on all my accounts, anything more refined or detailed will be posted to Cara and Sheezyart(and maybe Tumblr) and cross posted here, much to consider. I just know I don’t want this to be my main art space lmao

Been waiting to post this! GET GOT! Secret Snipe target this round was @corvikcorax.bsky.social and the delightful Ravi'all So! This piece was almost entirely experimental winging it with stuff I haven't tried before, but I had a great time doing it! #art #illustration #furryart #OC

Round fisheye lense style illustration of an underwater scene with a teal fish man with a red mask-like face and transparent bioluminescent torso. The scenery includes algae covered rocks and seaweed that fade into the distance, and light shafts shining in from above the water
