Had convos w/ multiple people in the past 4 days who DID NOT KNOW that 1. AI doesn't "think" or know anything; it's a probability machine 2. It was created using massive amounts of work stolen from actual people including me 3. The environmental costs are astronomical Spread the word, every time!

“Use AI to brainstorm but not to write.” “Use AI to help you outline but not to write.” These are commonly proposed as “ethical” ways for undergrad students to use AI, but I’m sorry, brainstorming & outlining are just as integral to writing as the actual construction of sentences.

I'm writing the last few pages of a novel draft and basking in the glow of "finishing" something, despite knowing that the real work is still ahead of me. Still, it's the conclusion of months of work, of not sleeping enough, of stealing time away from my kids, of making it work. And I'm just proud.
